Mid-market private equity investor LDC has appointed Lawrence Dean as the Head of its South team.
The appointment comes as the firm approaches its 20th anniversary in the region, having invested more than GBP575 million in over 60 of the region’s most ambitious firms since 2000, from its base in Reading.
Dean brings with him a wealth of experience from different sectors, including TMT and leisure in particular. He joins from LDC’s Birmingham office where he led two significant mid-market deals this year including the GBP110million deal to invest in motor finance technology specialist Evolution Funding, and the management

Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), a private investment firm investing in the healthcare, information, business services and education industries, has made a significant growth investment to recapitalise Endo1 Partners (Endo1), a fast-growing specialty dental services organisation headquartered in Houston.
VSS has partnered with co-founders Dr Matthew Haddad, Dr Daryl Dudum, Dr Mark Haddad, and Dr Darron Rishwain. Terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.

International law firm Ashurst advised long-standing client Agilitas Private Equity on the sale of Norway-based property remediation and environmental services specialist Recover Nordic to EQT Partners. The deal gives the company an enterprise value of NOK3 billion (GBP248 million).
Recover Nordic, which was acquired by Agilitas in 2013, is the largest emergency response and damage control business in the Nordic region, primarily serving insurance companies, municipalities, industrial and commercial clients. Following the Agilitas-backed management buyout, Recover Nordic has experienced strong organic growth and completed 17 add-on acquisitions. Smartlands, a global security token issuance and investment platform is to tokenise its own Holding company, Smartlands Holding Ltd, and for the first time offer shares tokenised on the Smartlands platform to US investors.
Valued at USD28,600,000 (pre-money), the company will make 3.5 per cent of its equity stake available to investors worldwide, including accredited investors in the US. Smartlands is looking to raise USD1,000,000 and use the funds for global expansion, development of the newly released digital payment product Smartee, and distribution of the first Smartee Co-owner payment cards.
