HR software provider CIPHR has today completed the acquisition of its long-term strategic software and services partner, Payroll Business Solutions (PBS), in a deal that will double the number of customers it can reach through its integrated services. CIPHR and PBS have worked together for more than 10 years and already have more than 50 joint customers that benefit from integrated HR and payroll systems, including household names such as bed manufacturer Dreams, delivery service CitySprint and property company ZPG. As a result of this acquisition, the Marlow-based business is announcing two new solutions to its market-leading services: CIPHR Payroll
Inflexion-backed Shimtech Industries has acquired Fastener Technology Corporation (FTC), a North Hollywood based supplier of high-strength specialty fasteners for commercial and military aerospace applications. FTC was founded by Bulent Gulistan in 1979 and has built a strong reputation as an innovative and reliable supplier serving more than 400 customers. Some customer relationships span multiple decades, including those with Lockheed Martin, Click Bond, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, and Wesco.  The existing management team, led by President Dennis Suedkamp, will continue to operate and grow the business, now aided by Shimtech’s additional group resources. Foresight Group (Foresight) has made a GBP2.0 million investment as part of a GBP3.3 million round into award-winning novel thin film ultrasound technology company Novosound Ltd (Novosound). The Foresight Williams Technology EIS Fund led the round, investing GBP1.5 million alongside GBP500,000 from the Foresight Scottish Growth Fund, financed by the Scottish Growth Scheme through a combination of Scottish Government funds and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and GBP1.3 million from existing shareholders including Par Equity, Kelvin Capital, Gabriel Investments, the University of the West of Scotland, and the Scottish Investment Bank, the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise.   Novosound
Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) has appointed Anna Elmfeldt as Managing Director and Head of Nordics. Reporting to Jiri Zrust, Head of Country Coverage and Origination for MIRA in Europe, Ms. Elmfeldt will be responsible for identifying new investment opportunities in the Nordics for MIRA’s suite of infrastructure and real asset funds. Elmfeldt will also oversee asset management activities and engagement with stakeholders for MIRA across the region. Bruin Sports Capital (Bruin) is  to acquire Two Circles, a consumer data analytics, sports marketing, and technology practice from WPP. Terms of the agreement, which is subject to regulatory approval, have not been disclosed. WPP will continue to hold a minority stake in the company.   Two Circles’, proprietary data-management platforms aggregate and analyse massive volumes of consumer data to inform new business development strategies and state-of-the-art marketing programs. Healthcare specialist private equity investor Apposite Capital’s dentistry group, Riverdale Healthcare, has acquired Eston Dental Practice in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, further expanding in the North East of England. HIG Growth Partners (HIG), the growth capital investment affiliate of HIG Capital, has invested in the Series D growth financing for Passport Labs, a mobility management platform. Founded in 2010 and based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Passport serves nearly 1,000 clients worldwide, helping them solve mobility challenges with solutions for parking, enforcement, permits, transit, and micro-mobility. Cinesite announced has secured investment from Gryphion Capital Investments along with new banking facilities from Barclays and NatWest which amount to USD112 million. Working together Barclays and NatWest will initially provide Cinesite with up to USD52 million for general funding and revolving credit facilities. The independent studio group has a further USD20m in future flexible facilities to deal with acquisition or expansion.
