Private equity firm Lonsdale Capital Partners’ (Lonsdale) portfolio company Cross Rental Services Group has completed the acquisition of Swegon Hire UK (Swegon).
The acquisition cements Cross’ position as one of the largest specialist chiller, boiler, heating & air conditioning rental companies in the UK and Irish market.
Lonsdale has now completed thirteen bolt-on acquisitions for its portfolio companies and eight platform investments, since closing its first institutional fund of GBP110 million in April 2016.

Hermes Investment Management has appointed Nigel Norman as Director, Middle East Distribution. Norman is a highly experienced investment professional who has spent more than two decades working with clients in the region. He will be responsible for developing the Hermes brand and relationships in the Middle East and will report into Paul Voûte, Head of EMEA Distribution.

Ardenton Capital Corporation (Ardenton) has acquired Pebbles Care, a provider of residential care and education for young people across the United Kingdom. This is Ardenton’s sixth investment in the UK.
Headquartered in Leeds and Dunfermline, Pebbles currently operates 41 residential care homes and four schools, providing care and education across the North of England and Scotland for more than 100 young people.
Ardenton will work closely with the business’ management team, and the investment will support Pebbles in its roll-out of best-in-class service for young people.

Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), a global institutional investor, has acquires a 24.9 per cent stake in the public-private partnership (PPP) contract for the trains, systems, operations and maintenance of Sydney Metro, Australia’s biggest public transport project, which includes both the North West and City & Southwest lines.
The total value of the transaction is AUD167 million (CAD150 million). Other investors include MTR Corporation Limited, Marubeni Corporation, Plenary Group and CIMIC Group Limited.
