Stableton Financial (Stableton) has launched a startup & venture programme as a part of the firm’s alternative investments platform which was announced earlier this year.
The startup & venture program caters to qualified investors, and financial intermediaries in particular, who wish to provide their clients with efficient access to Swiss and European early-stage and growth companies.
Such investments have been difficult to access and required specialised expertise to evaluate. Due to their fiduciary character, lack of securitisation, and administrative overhead, financial intermediaries were previously unable to include startup and venture investments into their investable universe, let alone provide consolidated reporting
Ropes & Gray has served as legal counsel to Kohlberg & Company (Kohlberg) in its agreement to acquire a majority stake in EN Engineering from General Atlantic. The transaction was announced on 18 July.

New research has revealed that M&A activity in the marketing sector in the first half of 2019 was largely driven by private equity (PE) investment, with many of the traditional network acquirers absent from the list of most active buyers.
