Pappas Capital, an investor in early-stage life sciences companies, has promoted Kyle Rasbach, PhD, PharmD to a Managing Partner of Pappas Ventures, the firm’s venture capital business.  In his new role, Dr Rasbach will help to oversee Pappas Ventures and lead fundraising and investment efforts for its future venture funds. BGF has expanded its London team with the appointment of Rowan Bird as an investor. Bird joins from the M&A team at Lazard where he spent three years working as an Investment Banking analyst, specialising in basic industries and the natural resources sector. Bird’s role at BGF will involve all aspects of the investment process from building relationships with business owners, supporting opportunities through BGF’s investment process and actively working alongside a number of portfolio companies post completion. European mid-market private equity investor Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) is to acquire Moody’s Analytics Knowledge Services (Knowledge Services), a provider of bespoke research, analytics and automation technology to the financial services sector, from Moody’s Corporation. Established in 2014 through the merger of the Moody’s subsidiaries Copal Partners and Amba Research, Knowledge Services provides various market-leading customised knowledge services, in domains such as investment banking, investment research, private equity & consulting and commercial lending. The business, headquartered in London and operating across nine delivery centres worldwide, employs a specialist workforce of subject matter experts working as an extension of clients’ teams.
WILsquare Capital, a lower-middle market private equity firm, has held a final close on WILsquare Capital Partners Fund II, at USD190 million. The fund’s USD150 million target was significantly oversubscribed within three months of fundraising. RA Capital Management (RA Capital) has held the first and final closing of its inaugural venture fund, RA Capital Nexus Fund (Nexus), at just over USD300 million, boosting RA Capital’s private deal capacity to nearly USD1 billion and total assets under management to approximately USD2.5 billion. Gen II Fund Services is to acquire Quilvest Luxembourg Services (QLS) from Quilvest Private Equity with Quilvest remaining a client of Gen II.  QLS is a Quilvest affiliate based in Luxembourg providing Private Equity/Real Estate administration services and supporting over USD5 billion of assets. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval. Property agency Linley & Simpson has acquired the residential lettings and sales business of another leading independent agency in Yorkshire, Morgans. The acquisition – completed for an undisclosed sum – is the eighth to take place since Linley & Simpson secured the backing of LDC, the UK’s leading mid-market private equity investor, in June 2018 to accelerate its growth plans.   The link-up adds more than 1,450 homes to the lettings portfolio of the agency – founded by Will Linley and Nick Simpson.
