KGAL Capital GmbH & Co, a sales company of independent investment and asset manager KGAL Group, has opened an affiliate in London.
KGAL Group, which has assets under management of EUR20.5 billion (GBP18.2 billion), focuses on long-term capital investments for institutional and private investors in the real estate, infrastructure and aviation asset classes.

European Buy & Build activity reached its highest recorded level in 2018 with a total disclosed deal value of GBP9.5 billion, according to Silverfleet Capital’s European Buy & Build Monitor.
Despite increased Brexit uncertainty, the UK & Ireland remained steadfast as the most active region for add-ons.
The Buy & Build Monitor, which tracks global add-on activity undertaken by European-headquartered companies backed by private equity, identified a provisional total of 702 add-ons in 2018, an 8 per cent increase from the 650 recorded over the same period in 2017.

An affiliate of middle market private equity firm Peak Rock Capital (Peak Rock) is to sell Lew’s Holdings Corporation (Lew’s) to BDT Capital Partners (BDT). The transaction is expected to close in several weeks.
Lew’s is a rapidly growing outdoor consumer products company with a portfolio of brands, including Lew’s, Strike King, and Hunters Specialties. The Company supplies branded fishing and hunting gear and accessories through the mass market, sporting goods, and specialty outdoor channels.

Central European private equity firm Innova Capital is to become a stakeholder in CS Group Polska, an online marketing services suppliers for the small and medium enterprises sector.
Innova Capital Funds are in the final stages of negotiations for a majority stake in CS Group Polska in what will be the fourth transaction by the new Innova/6 fund, which began investing in April 2018. The company’s current shareholders shall retain minority stakes and will continue supporting its further growth as management and supervisory board members.

BGF has adds to its Quoted team with the appointment of Simon Blackaby as an investor.
Blackaby joins from the EMEA Equity Capital Markets team at Jefferies International and will be working with Tom Jenkins, Matt Singh and Paul Stevens in BGF’s Quoted team, specialising in funding options for AIM-listed businesses.
BGF’s Quoted team has invested almost £200m into more than 40 quoted companies since inception. In addition to supporting businesses with initial investments, such as Manchester’s genedrive, the team have also made follow on investments into several current portfolio companies to support their growth, including Accsys Technologies and Inspired
Affiliates of British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) and Preservation Capital Partners (PCP) are to make a ‘significant investment’ in BMS.
The investment, which values BMS at GBP500 million, is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the third quarter.
The BMS management team, led by chief executive officer Nick Cook, will all remain in their current roles following completion, and management and staff of BMS will remain significant shareholders in the company.

Augusta & Co (Augusta), a specialist financial advisory and investment firm for the renewable energy industry, has appointed Axel Narváez Kirkpatrick as Managing Director, Head of Spain.
Narváez will be responsible for bringing Augusta’s extensive advisory and deal making capability, as well as its equity placement power, to the very active Spanish market. In this role he will be developing both Augusta’s advisory business and its bespoke investment management strategies in Spain.

YFM-backed Matillion, a provider of data transformation software for cloud data warehouses (CDWs) has raised USD35 million in a series C funding round.
The investment will allow Matillion to capitalise on its leading category position while continuing to deliver accelerated growth, and extend the capabilities of its flagship product line, Matillion ETL. Following the USD5m series A investment led by YFM this latest round led by Battery Ventures, brings Matillion’s total funding to-date to USD65 million. Series B investors, Sapphire Ventures and Scale Venture Partners also participated.
