The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the US Government’s development finance institution, has committed USD6 million in debt financing to CrossBoundary Energy, Sub-Saharan Africa’s first investment fund for commercial and industrial solar.
CrossBoundary Energy provides solar power to African enterprises. Clients sign long term power purchase agreements to purchase solar electricity without contributing upfront investment or taking technical risk on construction and maintenance. CrossBoundary Energy finances, builds, owns and operates the captive solar system for the client. The client receives cheaper and cleaner electricity.

Silverfleet Capital, a Pan-European mid-market private equity firm, has announced its succession strategy in preparation for the next phase of its growth.
Neil MacDougall, the Firm’s current Managing Partner will assume the position of Chairman of Silverfleet effective 1 April 2019. In this role, Neil will hand over management responsibility to Gareth Whiley but will continue on the Investment Committee of existing funds and provide senior support to Silverfleet’s five European offices.
Gareth Whiley will become the Firm’s Managing Partner on 1 April, 2019. In his new role, Whiley will assume overall responsibility for the management of the Firm.
UK private equity house Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has led a GBP1.035 million investment in Manchester-headquartered water treatment technology business, G2O Water Technologies Limited (G2O).
A total of GBP600,000 has been provided by Maven funds, which includes a GBP400,000 investment from NPIF – Maven Equity Finance, which is part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund and a GBP200,000 investment from the Finance Durham Fund, both managed by Maven. The additional GBP435,000 is from a number of private individual investors.

INKEF Capital (INKEF), a Dutch venture capital fund focused on technology and healthcare, has appointed Roel Bulthuis as Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Team. He will co-manage the INKEF fund alongside Robert Jan Galema, Head of Technology Team.
