Inflexion has supported CloserStill Media’s acquisition of Learning 2018, learning conference in the US.
CloserStill was founded in 2008 and partnered with Inflexion in 2015. The business operates content-led exhibitions throughout the UK, Europe, the US and the Far East and has been ranked in The Sunday Times HSBC International FastTrack 200 for three years running.
The acquisition of Learning 2018 expands CloserStill’s presence in the US, following the successful launch of its New York Vet conference in 2017. Inflexion has previously supported CloserStill’s international expansion through its 2017 acquisition of iLearning Forum in France.

Luge Capital, a new venture capital fund specifically focused on early-stage FinTech companies and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions applied to financial services, has completed a CAD75 million round of financing to begin operations.
Initially, CAD50 million of the raised capital was announced in October 2017 by the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Desjardins Group, two of the fund’s major investors. Sun Life Financial, the Fonds de Solidarité FTQ and La Capitale are also significant participants. Luge may expand the fund even further up to CAD100 million in the coming months.

The Cyberfort Group, which is backed by Palatine Private Equity, has acquired cyber security consultancy Agenci for an undisclosed sum.
The transaction adds a third business to the Cyberfort Group, with Agenci joining ultra-secure hosting and managed services provider The Bunker, and cyber security testing business Arcturus.
Agenci is a consultancy that specialises in IT security, particularly ISO 27001 and GDPR. The Wakefield headquartered company also has offices in London, and works with a range of clients across the UK to help them meet legal and regulatory requirements.
