Funds managed by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) have agreed to sell a majority stake in Karl Eugen Fischer, a manufacturer of cord-cutting machines for the tyre industry.
Equistone acquired Karl Eugen Fischer in August 2013 and is now selling its stake to DBAG Fund VII, managed by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG. Management will retain a shareholding in the company. The financial terms of the deal are undisclosed.

UMB Fund Services (UMBFS) has hired three associates to join its business development team – Michelle Benner, Ana Burke and Jose Rincon who all join as vice presidents, business development.
The trio will focus on new business development for UMBFS’ array of services for the asset management industry which include fund accounting, administration, tax, investor services, transfer agency, custody and distribution.

Global fintech firm InvestCloud Inc has announced the acquisition of London-based rplan Limited for USD20 million.
rplan is a provider of client engagement technology in the UK to support bespoke investment propositions for web and mobile. Its client base includes some of the largest institutional asset managers in the world, including four of the top eight in the UK.
The firm writes that rplan has had significant success enabling asset managers to digitize their existing retail clients and catapult the development of their digital strategy to support multi-channel distribution.
