Israeli high-tech companies closed 104 deals, totalling USD10 billion in exits, during 2016, according to the latest IVC-Meitar Exits Report. The figure includes 93 M&A deals with a total value of nearly USD8.8 billion including the USD4.4 billion Playtika acquisition. Eight additional buyouts generated USD1.22 billion while three small IPOs garnered USD15.1 million. The acquisition of Playtika by Chinese online gaming company Giant Interactive Group, for USD4.4 billion, was the largest deal of the year. Wind farm
French onshore wind specialist ENGIE has strengthened its partnership with Crédit Agricole Assurances by absorbing the onshore wind portfolio of MAÏA EOLIS, acquired in May 2016, into the two groups’ joint venture FEIH. Under the agreement, the wind farms operated by MAÏA EOLIS – representing total installed capacity of 267 MW – will be transferred to FEIH, the joint venture established by ENGIE and Crédit Agricole Assurances. Since its creation in 2013, the partnership has allowed ENGIE, which had installed wind power capacity of over 1,700 MW at the end of 2016, to reduce its net debt by around EUR400
Enstar Holdings has acquired Dana Companies (Dana Companies) from Dana Incorporated (Dana) for a total purchase price of USD91.5 million.   Dana is a world leader in the supply of highly engineered drivetrain, sealing, and thermal-management technologies for vehicles. Dana Companies holds liabilities associated with personal injury asbestos claims and environmental claims arising from its legacy manufacturing operations. Dana Companies’ assets include, among others, insurance rights related to coverage against these liabilities and marketable securities. Air Liquide has completed the sale of Aqua Lung, a specialist in personal aquatic equipment for recreational and professional use, to European private equity firm Montagu Private Equity.  Montagu will support Aqua Lung’s next phase of growth and enable the company to deliver on its strategy. Eurex Global Securities (EGS) has signed an exclusive agreement with DKG Group for trading on its new advanced and streamlined dark pool trading platform, the European Global Trading Platform (ETGP). Dark pool trading began to emerge in early 2000s, mainly thanks to the nature of private equity trading and the fact that it allows large institutional investors to buy a large number of stocks without attracting the attention of other public investors.
