BGF (Business Growth Fund) has expanded its Manchester-based team with two appointments.
Paul Dolyniuk joins as an investor after 10 years at KPMG while Daniel Beckett, who joins from Bureau van Dijk, will focus on business development across the North West, Yorkshire and North East.
Most recently, Dolyniuk worked on a number of transactions in KPMG’s corporate finance team, including advising the board of BDP Holdings on the sale of the business to Nippon Koei.

Clearwater International has advised the shareholders of the UK’s MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Limited on its cross-border sale to L-3 Communications, a New York headquartered provider of communications and electronic systems products used on military and commercial platforms.
MacDonald Humfrey specialises in the deployment of checkpoint security and wider aviation solutions, as well as in the development of process automation and collaborative robotic capabilities supporting aviation and other end markets.

L Catterton, a consumer-focused private equity firm, has closed its eighth buyout fund, L Catterton Partners VIII, at USD2.75 billion, including commitments from limited partners and the general partner of L Catterton.
The oversubscribed fund received strong support from existing investors as well as select new investors around the globe.
L Catterton VIII will commit between USD60 million and USD500 million to high-growth, middle market, consumer companies across North America and Europe. Similar to L Catterton's previous buyout funds, the fund will target control-oriented investments in companies growing strongly in attractive consumer categories.

State Street Corporation’s GX Private Equity Index (PEI) saw an overall gain of 2.7 per cent in Q2 2016, with buyout, private debt and venture capital all posting positive returns.
“The last eight quarters have been difficult for all private equity funds. Rolling one-year returns have been in decline since the second quarter of 2014, down from a nearly 30 per cent return to single digits, mainly due to continued slow growth, economic and political uncertainty, and a lacklustre IPO market,” says Will Kinlaw, senior managing director and global head of State Street Associates, a division of State Street Global Exchange.
Satuit Technologies, a provider of software solutions for the professional investment market, has appointed Michael Kendall as vice president – strategic relationships, responsible for buy-side vendor channel partnership and key client initiatives.
Kendall has worked most of his career with client reporting technologies where he has engaged with key buy side technology and data providers.
In his new role, Kendall will be working with these firms to assure seamless integration between their products and Satuit’s product line. He will also be working with the Satuit product team as a subject matter expert in the client reporting space.

Mills joins from Graphite Capital where she worked on the recent New World Trading Company and Aero Technics Group acquisitions as well as representing Graphite on the board of the Groucho Club.
Prior to joining Graphite, she was with KPMG working in the transaction services and restructuring divisions.

Sunoco Logistics Partners (SXL) is to acquire Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) in a unit-for-unit transaction.
The transaction was approved by the boards of directors and conflicts committees of both partnerships and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017, subject to receipt of ETP unitholder approval and other customary closing conditions.
Under the terms of the transaction, ETP unitholders will receive 1.5 common units of SXL for each common unit of ETP they own. This equates to a 10 per cent premium to the volume weighted average pricing of ETP’s common units for the last 30 trading

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, has acquired a portfolio of UK onshore wind farms from RES (Renewable Energy Systems) in one of the largest single acquisitions made by its infrastructure platform to date.
The portfolio includes three operational assets: Jacks Lane Wind Farm (six turbines, 15MW) located in Norfolk; Woolley Hill Wind Farm (four turbines, 10MW), located in Cambridgeshire; the recently completed Den Brook Wind Farm (nine turbines, 18MW) in Devon; and the Turncole Wind Farm (seven turbines, 17.5MW), which is currently under construction in Essex.

Pritzker Group Private Capital has completed its acquisition of ProAmpac, a global flexible packaging company, from Wellspring Capital Management.
Pritzker Group Private Capital signed a definitive acquisition agreement to acquire ProAmpac in October.
Pritzker Group and other co-investors are now invested alongside the ProAmpac management team, which remains a significant shareholder, continues to lead the company and serves on its board of directors.
Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, ProAmpac operates under the Prolamina, Ampac and Tulsack brands and has more than 2,400 employees across 18 manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia.
