Eversheds has appointed Pinsent Masons partner Andy Phillips to its Manchester corporate team.
Phillips, who is expected to join Eversheds’ Manchester office in early 2017, will lead the Eversheds private equity group in the North West.
Phillips has experience and expertise advising PE institutions and management teams and sellers on management buy-outs, exits and private company M&A within a range of sectors.

Oaktree Capital Group has appointed Steven Gilbert to its board of directors, effective 24 October 2016.
Gilbert is the founder and chairman of the board of institutional investment firm Gilbert Global Equity Partners.

Technology entrepreneurs who get funding from venture capitalists go public sooner and have more impactful innovation than those who partner with angel investors, according to research from the University at Buffalo School of Management.
Published in the Journal of Business Venturing, the study found that high-tech start-ups that received funding from venture capitalists were able to find a buyer or issue stock sooner than those that received angel investment — and the patents issued by venture capital-funded firms had greater reach.

Bowside Capital, a private investment firm that specialises in the North American private equity, small capitalisation market, has appointed Dru Rushing as a vice president.
Rushing will be involved in sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of private equity investments.
Prior to joining Bowside, Rushing spent over seven years as an investment banker focused on the business services and healthcare sectors.
He was most recently a vice president in the Atlanta office of Raymond James Financial, where he participated in over 20 transactions in mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, equity capital markets and private placements.

Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
GTT provides priority traffic control for public transit and emergency vehicles, with a growing presence in the broader public transit market for solutions that improve public transportation efficiency, safety and on-time performance.

Rodriques has more than 25 years of financial services and technology experience and has been an investor in more than 20 venture-backed firms.
He was a founding investor of mFoundry, a provider of mobile banking which was acquired by Fidelity Information Systems in 2013.
Most recently, he served as CEO of Pensco, an alternative asset custodian.
