Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors has held the final close of its latest energy-focused private equity fund, Kayne Anderson Energy Fund VII, at its hard cap of approximately USD2 billion in limited partner commitments. Detroit-based private equity firm Rockbridge Growth Equity has sold Triad Retail Media, a digital retail media advertising firm, to programmatic audience company Xaxis. Xaxis is a wholly owned operating company of WPP, the world's largest communications services group with offices in 113 countries.   Triad manages and delivers full-service creative, data and production digital media advertising campaigns to connect with shoppers at point-of-sale. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has invested in Russian pharmaceutical company Geropharm, a producer of drugs which restore brain function and treat diabetes. The proceeds from the deal will help Geropharm to increase its production of medicines. Man Group plc has acquired Aalto Invest Holding AG and launched a new ‘private markets offering’, Man Global Private Markets,  designed to offer longer term investments and complement their existing products. Man defines private markets as real estate, credit and infrastructure.  Founded in 2010 by Mikko Syrjänen and Petteri Barman, USD1.7 billion Aalto specialises in the management of real estate equity and debt strategies including direct investments in single family homes in the US and lending to commercial and residential real estate in Europe and the US. Prairie Crest Capital, a venture capital firm focused on early to mid-stage investments in breakthrough agriculture and technology firms, has launched in Des Moines, Iowa. Ninety two per cent of institutional investors and family offices have allocated to two or more funds in 2016 while 73 per cent of investors reported a net increase in their investments to alternative investment strategies since 2015. The UK’s first discovery subscription platform, Wonderush.com, has reached its crowdfunding target amount of GBP200,000 on Seedrs. The tech start-up will be using the money to invest and test new technology that will help scale the business globally.   London-based Wonderush.com launched the crowdfunding round on Seedrs on 24 August. It raised three quarters of its target within a few hours of launching.   Wonderush.com has previously received funding from investment fund Fuel.Ventures, joined by tennis player Andy Murray and fund founder MyVoucherCodes’ Mark Pearson, alongside private investors.   This is the first time the start-up has opened investment to the
Lending Works, a peer-to-peer lending platform which has insurance protecting lenders against certain borrower default risks, is now fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).  As with all platforms in existence prior to April 2014 which held consumer credit licenses under the Office of Fair Trading, Lending Works had until now been operating under interim permission from the FCA, having submitted its application for full authorisation in October 2015.   The announcement brings to an end a review process lasting just under a year, during which all areas of the business have undergone stringent evaluation and scrutiny.   Nick
