The UK’s first discovery subscription platform, Wonderush.com, has reached its crowdfunding target amount of GBP200,000 on Seedrs.
The tech start-up will be using the money to invest and test new technology that will help scale the business globally.
London-based Wonderush.com launched the crowdfunding round on Seedrs on 24 August. It raised three quarters of its target within a few hours of launching.
Wonderush.com has previously received funding from investment fund Fuel.Ventures, joined by tennis player Andy Murray and fund founder MyVoucherCodes’ Mark Pearson, alongside private investors.
This is the first time the start-up has opened investment to the general public, with a number of its activity hosts investing in the business as well.
Wonderush currently has 4,000 subscribers and works with more than 1,000 activity hosts in London, each earning on average GBP5,000 per month on a part-time basis.
Wonderush will be using the money raised on Seedrs to invest and test new technology that will help scale the business globally.
It is the UK’s first discovery subscription platform that lets members of the public to book unlimited number of classes and experiences for a monthly flat fee of GBP29 a month, while helping activity hosts get new customers and fill last minute unsold spaces.
Nelson Sivalingam (pictured), founder of Wonderush.com, says: “As this is the first crowdfunding campaign we’ve launched for Wonderush.com, I am thrilled that we’ve reached our target amount, especially in such a short space of time. I’m even more thrilled that a number of our activity hosts have decided to invest in the business they’re a part of.
“We’re really excited to start taking the Wonderush service to other UK cities. I’m sure in no time we will be making people’s lives more awesome across Europe and the US.”
