Inflexion Private Equity has promoted Mark Williams from investment director to partner with immediate effect. Williams joined the investment team in 2011 and has been involved in a number of transactions including the firm’s investment in corporate travel company Reed & Mackay last month; the carve-out of Kynetec; and the GBP92 million buyout of Alcumus.   Williams sits on the board of all three companies.   He was also closely involved in the buyout and subsequent exit of CTC Aviation Group, one of the world’s largest independent pilot training companies, which generated a 3x return in May 2015.   In

Law firm Taylor Wessing has advised Rutland Partners on the sale of Millbrook Group to Spectris for GBP122 million, realising a return for investors of over six times their investment. Taylor Wessing advised Rutland on the acquisition of Millbrook from General Motors in 2013.   The business, a test, validation and engineering service provider, owns a 665-acre site offering extensive test and validation facilities which complement over 45 miles of on and off road test tracks with a variety of surfaces, features and terrains.   Millbrook also acquired Test World in Finland in 2015, a deal on which Taylor Wessing

Bertrand Geradin, whose appointment takes the firm’s 25-strong Luxembourg team to five partners, has more than 15 years’ experience with law firms in Luxembourg, Brussels, London and Philadelphia.   He specialises in corporate law advising private equity and real estate clients, asset managers as well as multinational companies.   Ogier is the only law firm with a presence in Luxembourg, Cayman, BVI, Jersey and Guernsey. Equistone Partners Europe has invested in managed service provider Apogee, a manufacturer of print and document technology and services, in a transaction valuing the company at GBP185 million. Private equity firm CenterOak Partners has completed a majority investment in Wetzel’s Pretzels, the second largest owner and franchisor of soft pretzel stores.  Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Headquartered in Pasadena, California, Wetzel’s Pretzels has been serving premium freshly baked soft pretzels since Bill Phelps and Rick Wetzel founded the company in 1994.   In addition to its signature hand-rolled soft pretzels, its menu includes Wetzel Dogs, Wetzel Bitz pretzel bites, fresh lemonade, granita and other beverages.   It has more than 300 company-owned and franchise locations in 28 states and six countries. Sebastian Ehrnrooth has become managing partner at Segulah, having previously shared the role with Henrik Lif who is leaving the company. Ehrnrooth has been with Segulah for 16 years.   Lif joined Segulah in 2014 and became co-managing partner in 2015. His responsibilities will be shared by the partner group consisting of Percy Calissendorff, Marcus Planting-Bergloo, Erik Thornell, Håkan Dahlin, Sebastian Ehrnrooth and Gabriel Urwitz.   ”Henrik’s departure comes after a discussion in the partner group about the management of the firm. Orrick has advised a consortium of international private equity firms, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Columbia Capital, HarbourVest Partners, Innova Capital, MC Partners and Oak Investment Partners, in the sale of Slovakian telecommunications provider Benestra to private equity house Sandberg Capital. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Inventis Investment Holdings have agreed to establish a joint investment platform in Russia.
