NVM Private Equity (NVM) has led the recent fundraising round for Manchester based software company MPD Group. NVM has invested GBP2.5 million which will enable the business to continue to develop and deploy their new, disruptive Electio SaaS product.  Electio is a delivery management platform enabling retailers to rapidly increase the number of delivery options they offer to their customers. Venky Ganesan, Managing Director of Menlo Ventures, will serve as the 2016-2017 Chair of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) Board of Directors. Ganesan’s appointment was made official at the Second Annual NVCA Leadership Gala & Summit in San Francisco, this week. Ganesan becomes Chair of the NVCA Board of Directors at a key time for the entrepreneurial ecosystem.  With the 2016 presidential elections to produce a new president with a new policy agenda that could impact NVCA’s key policy priorities, Ganesan remarked on the important role NVCA plays in advocating for policies to strengthen venture and the broader ecosystem.

Law firm Howard Kennedy has advised Cenkos Securities on the GBP3.2 million fund raising by the AIM traded company, MedaPhor Group plc. This secondary fund raising was effected via a share placing, with Cenkos acting as Nomad and Broker to MedaPhor Group plc. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Britain are planning to invest for future growth, according to new research from specialist lending and savings Bank, Aldermore. The new data shows SMEs are proactively looking for opportunities to grow over the next five years.  The Aldermore SME Outlook 2016 found that almost four out of every 10 (39 per cent) businesses surveyed intend to hire more staff over the next five years to foster growth, while more than a fifth (22 per cent) plan to invest in new assets such as machinery or vehicles to increase productivity.
