DNS Capital has acquired IMI Holding Corp, the parent company of Industrial Magnetics, (IMI), Prater Industries, and Sterling Controls, from Chattanooga-based private equity firm, River Associates Investments.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. DNS Capital is the investment office and internal merchant bank for the business enterprise of Gigi Pritzker and Michael Pucker.

A great number of the world's more than 13,000 alternative investment funds suffer from "Fund Manager's Disease," which significantly prevents those funds from increasing assets under management (AUM).
That’s according to Ole Rollag, managing principal of Murano Systems who, in his keynote presentation at the Amsterdam Investor Forum hosted by ABN Amro Bank, said that and on an industry-wide basis, the ‘disease’ serves to limit the adoption of alternative asset classes by institutional investors.

Lawyers from Carey Olsen's Guernsey funds team have advised Creandum on the establishment of their latest venture capital fund, Creandum IV, which was oversubscribed and held a first and final closing at EUR180 million.

Gide has advised Dalian Canglong Optoelectronic Technology Co on its acquisition of 70 per cent of the equity interests in French high-tech company Almae Technologies SAS.
Canglong Optoelectronic is part of the FiberHome Technologies Group, a major Chinese state-owned enterprise specialising in the manufacturing of optical fibre and cable products for the information technology and telecommunications industries. EnTouch Controls has raised USD8 million in Series C financing led by Egis Capital Partners. Also participating were new investors Traverse Venture Partners, Aster Capital and Calvert Investments along with existing investors SJF Ventures and Trailblazer Capital.

African Alpha Investment Partners (AIIP) has invested an undisclosed amount into SERS Ltd, an Africa focused equipment financing company based in Mauritius. The transaction was a refinancing of a facility raised and arranged by AAIP in October 2014, extending maturities and reducing the company's cost of borrowing.
The new facility also provided additional growth capital to allow SERS to finance further asset acquisition for its equipment financing clients, including those who have provided essential services to agencies active in the Ebola-affected countries of West Africa.
