LGT Capital Partners has held the final close of Crown Europe Middle Market III (CEM III), its third investment program focused on European middle market buyouts, with total subscriptions of EUR500 million. The program’s investor base consists of 34 institutions, including government pension funds, corporate pension funds and insurance companies in Australia, Belgium, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. After private equity activity levelled off in 2015, industry leaders have moderated their expectations for the coming year, according to the seventh annual PErspective Private Equity Study by BDO USA Ninety-five per cent of firms plan to close five deals or less within the coming year, a slightly higher projection than last year's survey, when 87 percent of respondents said they would close no more than five deals. JZ Capital Partners has completed the sale of six of its European investments – held through the EuroMicrocap Fund 2010 (EMC 2010) – to a major financial institution for EUR96.3 million (USD104.6 million). This transaction will be completed in two phases. Firstly, on 1 February, 2016, JZCP sold its stake in the first five assets (Docout, Ombuds, One World Packaging, Toro Finance, and Xacom) for EUR75.2 million. Secondly, JZCP will sell its stake in Winn for EUR21.1 million[1] when regulatory approval is received (estimated 4-6 months). Xignite, a provider of market data cloud solutions for financial institutions and financial technology companies, has raised USD20.5 million in a Series C funding round led by Tokyo-based QUICK Corporation, part of the Nikkei Group and Japan’s largest financial information provider. StarVest Partners, Altos Ventures, and Startup Capital Ventures, Xignite’s current investors, also participated. This new round brings Xignite’s total funding to USD37 million.   In connection with the capital raise, Xignite and QUICK will be partnering to deliver Xignite’s cloud-based data solutions in the Asian market as well as QUICK’s proprietary financial data and information through Xignite’s market leading APIs.
