The Co-operators is increasing its pledge to the Canadian Co-operative Investment Fund (CCIF) to CAD10 million. The Fund, which will be launched in the coming months, will support the development and expansion of Canadian co-operatives with loans and other funding sourced from the co-op sector.

A more coherent regulatory environment is needed if investors are to prevent “runaway climate change”, according to Donald MacDonald, who chairs the Institutional Investor Group on Climate Change (IIGCC).
“We have the capital, but the right policies and regulatory frameworks are not in place,” said MacDonald. “In many cases energy regulation, pensions regulation and insurance regulation are simply not integrated. The IIGCC has been engaging with the European Commission about the perverse impact that well-intentioned regulation might have, for example, on issues around energy unbundling and pension and insurance fund solvency.”

The value of investment fund business in Guernsey grew by GBP2.8 billion (1.28 per cent) during the first quarter of this year. It means the net asset value of all funds under management and administration in Guernsey now stands at GBP222.2 billion.
Statistics from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) also show that there were 25 new investment funds approved during the first quarter of 2015.

In a succession situation the two owners decided to divest the majority of their shares to the Rehms Group. Idinvest Parners has held the final closing of Idinvest Private Debt III a fund dedicated to the financing of European SMEs through mezzanine or unitranche, at EUR400 million.
Following in the footsteps of its predecessors, the Fund will invest in business transfers, acquisitions and organic growth especially in exports.
The fund applies a flexible and original strategy based on a particularly focused approach, targeting:
• Investments of about EUR5m-EUR40m in the mezzanine and unitranche debt of European SMEs;
• Debt purchases on the secondary market.

Quadrille Capital has held an initial closing of its new fund Quadrille Technologies III at EUR65 million. The fund is aiming to raise EUR100 million, with a hard cap at EUR150 million.
It is the first innovation-focused fund (FPCI) for Quadrille Capital since becoming independent from Quilvest.
This initial closing includes several institutional investors, most of whom participated in the previous fund.
