Private equity firm Calculus Capital, a specialist in Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) funds, has appointed Alexander Crawford as Investment Director. Alexander has over 20 years' corporate finance experience, including ten years with Robert Fleming & Co, Evercore Partners and JP Morgan in London, New York and Johannesburg. He was previously a Managing Director at Pall Mall Capital. He has an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. Union Group and China Communication Construction Company, one of the biggest engineering and construction companies in the world, have signed a deal to develop infrastructure projects across the Latin America region. The two companies form a consortium that will first tender for a Uruguay Government contract to restore and maintain a 140km railway track, involving an initial investment of around USD150 million. Private equity firm Hamilton Lane has held the final closing of Hamilton Lane Co-Investment Fund III.
