Ogier has been ranked in the top 10 London legal advisers to 2014 European IPOs, new research shows – the only offshore firm listed in the deal table compiled by analysts Experian. Ogier features in the top ten by value (GBP1,236 million) alongside magic circle firms Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters. Institutional investors will be targeting alternative investments over the next two years, with infrastructure assets generating the greatest interest, according to the latest issue of The Cerulli Edge-Global Edition. Of the 56 European institutions surveyed by global analytics firm Cerulli Associates, in partnership with Institutional Investor, 53% plan to increase their exposure to infrastructure over the next 12 to 24 months. The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) has committed USD75 million to private equity firm Siris Partners.  This is the first direct commitment to Siris, which has previously received commitments from CalPERS through the System's emerging manager fund-of-funds. Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Denmark's Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on a GBP160 million investment in the acquisition and development of the UK’s Brite biomass-fired power plant. The investment is on on behalf of the Copenhagen Infrastructure II fund (CII), a Danish private equity fund dedicated to energy and infrastructure assets with DKK8 billion (EUR1,05 billion) to invest at present. Ogier has advised Cinven on its acquisition of Premium Credit Limited for an enterprise value of GBP462 million. Premium Credit Limited is a UK specialty finance provider which provides financing for insurance premiums and a variety of annual fees, including school fees and membership subscriptions. It has 2 million customers, works with 4,000 intermediaries and achieved advances of £3.7 billion in 2013.
