JZ Capital Partners makes first investment in Denmark

London-listed private equity fund JZ Capital Partners has acquired SAC, an operational van leasing company based south of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Led by CEO Rene Ubbesen, who has been with SAC and its predecessor company for over 20 years, SAC’s business model is based on flexible short and long term leases with an average lease period of approximately four years. SAC controls the full life cycle of its product, including procurement, financing, service & warranty and resale.

JZCP acquired 45 per cent of SAC through its EuroMicrocap Fund for approximately EUR2.8 million. Furthermore, JZCP also acted as mezzanine lender, providing EUR4.8 million of direct financing to SAC.

David Zalaznick, JZCP’s Founder and Investment Adviser, says: “This acquisition creates an opportunity to build a substantial asset backed balance sheet of vans, with strong investment returns. We look forward to working with the exceptional management team at SAC to help grow their business.”
