UK private equity house Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has funded a replacement capital transaction in Westway Services Holdings (Westway).
Maven originally supported an MBO of the London-based facilities management business in 2009 and has since helped grow Westway’s footprint throughout London and the South East.
The GBP3.6 million recapitalisation of Westway, which is Maven’s 10th Private Equity transaction this year, has not only delivered a 1.6x money multiple return for Maven client funds prior to any future equity realisation, but has also increased Maven’s equity stake in the business.

High Road Capital Partners has sold portfolio company Handi Quilter marking the third exit for the firm’s debut fund, High Road Capital Partners Fund I, LP.
North Salt Lake, Utah-based Handi Quilter is a leading developer and manufacturer of mid- and long-arm quilting machines for the consumer quilting market. The company was acquired by Blue Point Capital Partners. Transaction terms were not disclosed.

PAD will be rebranded and operate as Valerus Specialty Chemicals (Valerus).

Franklin Square in partnership with GSO Capital Partners, has provided a senior secured loan to finance the acquisition and recapitalisation of Fox Head and Hybrid Apparel by Altamont Capital Partners.
Under the terms of the investment, Franklin Square also participated as an equity co-investor alongside Altamont.
The investments were made through FS Investment Corporation II (FSIC II) and FS Investment Corporation III (FSIC III), BDCs managed by Franklin Square and sub-advised by GSO. FSIC II and FSIC III focus primarily on investing in the debt securities of private U.S. middle market companies.

Spiralite ductwork has secured a GBP3.1 million funding round, led by venture capital investors Octopus Investments.
The technology behind Spiralite takes an organic, non-metal, pre-insulated material, which is formed into a duct for delivering heating, ventilation and air conditioning in domestic, commercial and industrial buildings.
The funding represents the first institutional investment into Spiralite, which has already provided their energy-saving technology to projects including Marks and Spencer in Stratford City and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital near London Bridge.
The Spiralite patented technology is up to 40% more energy efficient than traditional metal ducts due to its virtually airtight construction
IK Investment Partners’ IK 2007 Fund is to sell part of the Agros Nova Group, a manufacturer of branded fruit and vegetable food products, to Maspex-GMW.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
Headquartered in Warsaw, Agros Nova is a leader in all three of its business segments, comprising fruit and vegetable preserves, ready-made food and non-carbonated beverages. Private equity firm Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has led the Management Buy-Out (MBO) of Fathom Systems Limited (Fathom).
Established in 2005, Fathom provides niche solutions and products to the commercial diving, Remotely Operated Vehicles and underwater engineering sectors. The business now generates a turnover of GBP5 million and employs 36 skilled personnel.
The transaction represents the 9th Private Equity transaction completed by Maven in 2014, following its investment in a number of fast growing UK SMEs including the global cycling apparel brand Endura, chromatography solutions business Crawford Scientific, and IT support services specialists ISN Solutions.
