eFront, a software provider of financial solutions for managing alternative investments, has extended its partnership with international technology consulting firm Methys, naming it the integrator for all eFront solutions in Africa.
The two companies will build on the partnership’s successes implementing eFront solutions throughout Africa to bring regional customers technologies, market leadership, local expertise, hosting and value-added services.
eFront began its partnership with South Africa-based Methys in 2012 and, during that time, the two companies have collaborated on seven projects in South Africa and throughout the continent.

Pershing Square Holdings (PSH), a closed end fund that is an active investor and owner of large minority stakes in North American, large-capitalisation public companies, has listed on Euronext’s Amsterdam market.
PSH was listed through the admission to trading of 250,253,351 public shares on Euronext Amsterdam.
The admission of these shares follows a USD2,73 billion placement of new shares issued by Pershing Square Holdings Ltd to non-US institutional and professional investors. Simplestream, a provider of ‘Over the Top’ (OTT) live streaming services for broadcast TV channels, has secured substantial funding from Beringea, the manager of the ProVen VCTs.
The investment will accelerate the expansion of TVPlayer, Simplestream’s B2C live TV streaming service, and facilitate the addition of more channel packs and multi-channel catch-up functionality.

Jean Châtillon has joined European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital in Paris as a principal, while Benjamin Hubner and Jennifer Regehr have joined the firm in Munich as associates.
Châtillon joins from Cobalt Capital, a Paris-based private equity firm, where he has been investing in mid-market French companies for the last seven years. Prior to joining Cobalt he worked for EY in Paris in the audit and transaction services business units.
Hubner joins from McKinsey & Company in Munich where he has worked on consulting projects across a wide range of sectors since 2010.

The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan has agreed to acquire Bridon Limited, a manufacturer of wire rope, from Melrose Industries.
The transaction, led by Teachers’ Private Capital (TPC), values UK-based Bridon at GBP365 million (approximately USD656 million), subject to customary adjustments, and is expected to close by the end of 2014 (subject to receipt of required regulatory approvals).

Blackstone’s board of directors has approved a plan to spin off its financial and strategic advisory services, restructuring and reorganisation advisory services and its Park Hill fund placement businesses.
The businesses will be combined with PJT Partners, an independent financial advisory firm founded by Paul J Taubman (pictured). The parties expect the transaction to close in 2015.
