Enterprise Finance has acquired bridging lender West One Loans in a transaction funded by a combination of cash and equity.
Enterprise Finance is a specialist distributor focused on secured loans, bridging finance and commercial mortgages. It is backed by ISIS Equity Partners, which currently has GBP1.2bn of funds under management.
The two businesses, which are based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, are to be integrated in the near future with both companies moving to a new, larger headquarters in the local area.

NorthEdge Capital, the private equity firm focused on investing in businesses in the North of England, has backed Ramsdens Financial, the UK’s largest independent pawnbroker.
Founded in 1987 in Stockton-on-Tees, Ramsdens has 450 employees and more than 120 branches across North East England, Yorkshire, Scotland and Wales.
The investment from NorthEdge will allow the business to further develop its store portfolio and expand and grow its core products.
Andy Ball, partner and chief investment officer at NorthEdge Capital, director James Hall and investment director Tom Rowley led the deal. Ball and Hall join the board as non-executive directors.
ECI Partners has held the final closing for its 10th buyout fund, ECI 10, at the hard cap of GBP500m.
ECI launched its latest fundraising in early April 2014 with a target fund size of GBP400m.
The fund was raised predominantly from its existing institutional investors, who have contributed 80 per cent of the capital, with an average increase on prior commitments of 33 per cent. There were also five new investors.
ECI 10 comprises a total of 25 institutional investors from the UK, US, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. They include pension funds, fund of funds, insurance
Law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has hired telecommunications specialist Gordon Moir from niche international practice Webb Henderson.
Moir becomes a partner in the commercial disputes, regulation and markets team, working out of the firm’s London and Edinburgh offices, and at the offices of overseas clients. He brings with him a team of three.
In 2011, Moir set up the London operation of Australasian firm Webb Henderson. Clients included BT, Sky, Nominet and AT&T.
Highly regarded in the telecoms sector, Moir has previously worked in private practice at McGrigors and Ashurst and in-house as general counsel at BT Retail,
Pelican Point Capital Partners has appointed Marvin Miller as general counsel and managing director.
“Marvin brings with him extensive legal experience in structured finance/business transactions that will be extremely accretive to the team at Pelican for its investment activities and portfolio management,” says Ike Suri, co-CEO and co-founder.

Perella Weinberg Partners has appointed Stefan Green as a partner in the firm’s advisory business.
Green will focus on providing strategic and financial advice to technology, media and telecommunications companies, and he will have broader responsibility for the San Francisco office, where he will be based.
Green comes to Perella Weinberg Partners following a 19 year career at Goldman Sachs. Named a partner in 2002, Green held a number of leadership positions, including chief operating officer and head of investment banking services for the EMEA region and head of the financial sponsors group, EMEA. Savant Systems has received a USD90 million investment from affiliates of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and the founder of Savant, Robert Madonna.
The funding will support Savant’s continued product innovation and company expansion.

Zolfo Cooper has negotiated new debt facilities of GBP70 million for Acal plc, a supplier of specialist electronics with global operations.
The facilities have been used to part-finance the acquisition of Noratel, a designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic products based in Norway.
They will also be used to refinance various existing debt facilities and to support Acal’s future growth strategy.
The debt advisory team negotiated competitive terms for the new debt facilities, forming a club structure which included several international banks and a local Nordic lender. The financing package provides the business with a low cost, flexible financing
European Capital Debt Management (ECDM) has closed its new GBP100 million fund, European Capital UK SME Debt LP, a fund to provide debt finance in small and medium sized enterprises in the UK.
The fund will invest in businesses with a turnover of up to GBP100 million.
The British Business Bank is committing GBP50 million to the fund under the British Business Bank Investment Programme.
The remaining GBP50 million is being committed by European Capital Limited and its affiliates.
