Omnes Capital – formerly Crédit Agricole Private Equity – has invested EUR4m in the Italian company Futuris via its Capenergie 2 fund. Additional investment of up to EUR10m is planned. The Milan-based company – founded and developed by Rodolfo Danielli, former chief operating officer of Italcementi and EMEA director of Air Liquide – develops, builds and manages biomass-fired cogeneration plants.   Futuris SA aims to develop the equivalent of 54 MW of installed capacity between now and 2016, for a total investment of EUR220m. One of KRG Capital Partners’ Fund IV platform companies, Fort Dearborn Company, has completed the acquisition of FetterGroup’s paint and coating labels business. KRG made its initial investment in Fort Dearborn Company – a supplier of cut and stack, pressure sensitive, roll-fed and shrink sleeve labels – in August 2010. The acquisition of FetterGroup’s paint and coatings label business represents the 179th investment for KRG since its inception.
Alliance+, the Nordic cleaning business backed by Danish/Swedish mid-market private equity investor Polaris Private Equity, has completed its seventh add-on deal, acquiring Facila, a complementary Swedish business. Alliance+ was formed by Polaris in 2009 through the simultaneous acquisition of Kølving & Thaning and Alliance Clean & Care – two cleaning service companies operating in Denmark. Innovacom has invested in the capital of Green Communications during a fundraising round of EUR600,000. This marks the first investment of its seed fund technocom2, dedicated to digital start-up companies having a strong technical component. Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has appointed Hiro Shimizu and Sakae Suzuki as directors for KKR Japan. Shimizu joined KKR Capital Markets from Goldman Sachs Japan, where he most recently served as managing director and head of the financial institutions group within the financing group. Suzuki joins KKR Capstone from McKinsey, where he most recently served as a principal with particular expertise in telecom, media and technology, and operations. In their new roles, Shimizu and Suzuki will work alongside KKR’s team in Tokyo led by Shusaku Minoda, managing director and chief executive officer of KKR Japan. This increases KKR Japan’s team to
CVC Capital Partners, a private equity firm, has appointed Eric Daniels to its global financial institutions advisory board. Daniels’ (pictured) appointment is effective immediately.   Daniels, who is based in the UK, was formerly group chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to this, he was group chief executive of Lloyds TSB, a position he took up in June 2003. Daniels joined Lloyds in 2001, when he was appointed to the board as group executive director with responsibility for the retail banking division. AXA Private Equity has arranged a EUR220m unitranche facility for the acquisition of IPH by PAI Partners from Investcorp. The deal represents the largest unitranche financing in Europe to date.   IPH is a distributor of industrial supplies in Europe. Founded in 1987 and historically based in Lyon, France, IPH provides its products and services through a multibrand, multi-specialist and multi-channel network. IPH is active in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Romania, with approximately 3,000 employees and revenues of approx. Diagnostic Healthcare, headquartered in Altrincham, has a network of centres and mobile units across the UK providing MRI scans, obstetric ultrasound, bone density scans (DEXA scan), cardiac testing, health screening and reporting services.
