The CapStreet Group, a Houston-based private equity firm, has completed the sale of GHX Holdings to United Central Industrial Supply.
GHX, a value-added distributor of fluid transfer and sealing products, will merge its operations with those of United Central and will operate as The United Distribution Group.
GHX’s management team, including executive chairman Dan Ahuero, executive vice president Ben Andrews, chief executive Richard Harrison and chief financial officer Dan Maddox, will continue in leadership positions in the new, combined company.

Maples Fund Services has expanded its US operations with the hire of Megan Corcoran as director of business development, Americas.
Based in New York, Corcoran will focus on expanding opportunities for continued growth of the fund services business in North America and South America.

Denver-based private equity firm KRG Capital Partners has completed a recapitalisation of Home Solutions in combination with its senior management team.
This investment represents the 13th platform company for KRG’s USD1.96bn Fund IV and its fourth platform investment in the healthcare sector.
Home Solutions is a provider of home infusion therapy services located throughout the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions. The company was founded in 1996 by its current chief executive Todd Timbrook, and has developed into one of the most well-respected infusion providers.

Private equity firm VMG Partners has completed the sale of Snack Factory, parent company of Pretzel Crisps, to Snyder’s-Lance for USD340m.
Pretzel Crisps, the world’s first flat pretzel-shaped cracker, was launched by snack food pioneers Sara and Warren Wilson in 2004.
VMG invested in the company in 2009 and, working in close partnership with the Wilsons and management, helped to build one of the fastest growing brands in the premium, natural snack business.
Snack Factory products are distributed nationally primarily in the deli-bakery section of grocery retailers and in mass merchandisers and club stores.

eFront, an alternative investment software solutions provider backed by private equity firm Francisco Partners, has acquired DMLT, a provider of investor reporting and portal services for the alternative asset community.

Thirteen small and medium-sized businesses are to share government funding of around GBP1m for feasibility studies that aim to accelerate the development and introduction of new technologies likely to enhance production and asset reliability within the oil and gas sector.
The grant funding has been awarded to the companies by the UK’s innovation agency, the Technology Strategy Board (www.innovateuk.org).

Private equity fund manager Summer Street Capital Partners has invested in Midwest Technical Institute, a private, post-secondary school providing career education in the fields of welding, HVACR, allied health and cosmetology with five campuses across Illinois and Mississippi.
This transaction is Summer Street’s third platform investment in the post-secondary career school industry and the second investment in their third fund.
Though terms of the transaction were not disclosed, Summer Street manages in excess of USD550m of capital to make equity investments that typically range from USD15m to USD30m.

The Beekman Group has closed the sale of Northwestern Management Services (NMS) to Linden Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused middle market investment firm.
Founded in 2002 by chief executive David A Willens, NMS provides management and administrative services and facilities for the Gentle Dental Group and has grown into the largest dental practice management company exclusively operating in Florida.
Gentle Dental provides comprehensive general, cosmetic and specialty dental services through its network of 21 locations. The Beekman Group partnered with Willens and acquired a majority interest in NMS in December 2007.
