The post of director of investment business at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission will be advertised locally and in the Financial Times this week.
Peter Moffatt (pictured), the current director who joined the Commission in 2000, will retire from the role early next year.
Nik van Leuven, the director general of the GFSC, says: “I have known Peter since he joined the Commission. He brought to the role of director his own inimitable style, reinforced by a keen intellect and challenging approach. The high respect with which the funds sector is held externally owes much to his thought and care.”
SBI Ven Capital has selected Imagine Software’s ASP service, Derivatives.com, for risk and portfolio management.
SBI Ven Capital, a Singapore subsidiary of Japan-based SBI Holdings, is a private equity firm providing growth capital to companies in the mid-market sector in the Asia Pacific region.
Its adoption of Imagine includes both risk and portfolio managers based in Tokyo and Singapore, trading through Shenton Structured Projects, SBI’s public markets proprietary desk.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has bought Chevron’s 23.44 per cent stake in the Colonial Pipeline.
KKR acquired the minority stake in partnership with the National Pension Service of Korea, the fourth largest public pension fund in the world.
The Colonial pipeline system is the largest refined products pipeline in North America, running from supply centres in the Gulf Coast to customers located along the eastern seaboard of the US.
Chevron was one of five shareholders of Colonial.

The promotions follow the closing of Bertram Capital’s second fund, Bertram Growth Capital II, with USD500m in limited partner commitments.

TLG Capital has furthered its Ugandan portfolio by signing an agreement to acquire a 20 per cent stake in Vero Food Industries, whose primary focus is the production of mineral water and rice.
Due to start operations in the next couple of months, Vero Food Industries is set to be among the largest producers of these products in the region, with the ability to produce over 42,000 bottles of mineral water a day.

UK private equity firm Sovereign Capital has hired Luke Kingston, Jonathan Marlow, Jonathan Kay, Ross Coull and Elizabeth Buckle.
Kingston joins Sovereign’s deal team from Ernst & Young. He has significant buy-side advice experience having completed numerous transactions with a variety of private equity houses. He also brings six years of support services focus to Sovereign as well as more than a decade of advising entrepreneurs in the UK lower mid-market.

Michel Davy has been appointed as managing director for Ipes in Guernsey.
The appointment, which is an internal promotion, was approved by the GFSC earlier this month.
Davy will spearhead the development of the Guernsey business, overseeing key client relationships and taking a lead role in building relationships with the professional community.
He will work closely with group chief executive Kevin Brennan.
“As Ipes has grown here in Guernsey and expanded into other jurisdictions, we now have a requirement for someone at a senior level to head up our Guernsey business,” says Brennan. “Michel’s experience on the operational side of
