Adams Street Partners, LLC, a private markets investment management firm with more than $54 billion of assets under management globally, has secured more than $3.2 billion in capital commitments for its seventh Secondaries Investment Program, including the successful close of Global Secondary Fund 7.
Overall European deal activities remained strong until the third quarter of 2022 before a drop in the fourth quarter, according to the 2023 edition of the annual CMS Private Equity Study, analysed data from over 100 deals CMS advised on during the year.

Baker Botts, an international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, has appointed Clay Brett as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department based in Houston. Brett was previously a partner at Houston-based energy investment firm Millennial Energy Partners.
Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm that invests in high-growth, disruptive companies, has appointed David Roberts as a managing director in the firm’s digital commerce team, top focus on nvestments across eCommerce, marketplaces, consumer products, services and adjacent enabling software verticals. Roberts joins Great Hill after 11 years at Advent International, where he focused on investments in growth businesses in the consumer sector. Carried interest earned by a group 255 of the UK’s top private equity dealmakers, totalled £2.7 billion in the 2020-2021 tax year, according to a report by The Financial Times, quoting deal analysis by law firm Macfarlanes.
Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund now ranks among the largest private equity allocators by portfolio percentage (33$%), having made more than $600 million in commitments to the asset class in FY 2023, according to a report by Buyouts Insider. Pear VC has closed its fourth fund with $432 million in capital commitments, making it one of the largest seed funds raised in recent years by a non-multistage vehicle. The fund will target pre-seed and seed investments in AI.
