Funds managed by Blackstone GP Stakes have made a minority investment in FTV Capital, a private investment firm with a 25-year track record of investing in companies across the enterprise technology, financial services and payments landscapes. Blackstone GP Stakes specialises in value-added, long-term investments in the management companies of private equity firms. FTV seeks to make control and significant minority equity investments, often as the first institutional investor, generally ranging from $30 to $200 million that align with the objectives of company management teams to accelerate growth and expansion. Astorg, a Pan-European private equity firm, is to acquire a majority stake in hg medical, a global manufacturer of complex orthopaedic implants from NORD Holding. Astorg will support hg medical’s growth both organically and through acquisitions.

Private equity fund advisors will now have to make more disclosures about their investments after the US Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday voted to adopt a series of amendments to FormPF, the confidential reporting form for certain SEC-registered investment advisers to private funds. 
Advent International and minority investor British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, have completed the acquisition of Maxar, a provider of comprehensive space solutions and secure, precise, geospatial intelligence, in a deal that values Maxar at $6.4 billion.
PGIM, the $1.2 trillion global investment management business of Prudential Financial, is to acquire a majority interest in Deerpath Capital Management, a US private credit and direct lending manager focused primarily on financing private equity sponsor-backed companies in the lower middle market. 
Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, a private equity firm specialising in corporate divestitures in the middle market, has held the final closing of its first fund, Pacific Avenue Fund I, which was significantly oversubscribed at its hard cap of over $500 million. 
KKR is to acquire CoolIT Systems, a provider of scalable liquid cooling solutions for demanding computing environments. The investment will support the CoolIT’s ability to scale and serve its global customers across the data centre market.
Dextra Partners, a multi-strategy private equity firm focused on the middle market, has hired five new team members across several functions. HV Capital, an early-stage and growth venture capital investor has held the final close of HV Capital Fund IX at €710m, making it the largest fund ever raised by the firm. The fund will invest in ‘technology disruptors’ across all growth phases.
