Allied Industrial Partners, an operationally focused lower-middle market private equity firm based in Texas, has made three senior executive appointments at its Houston headquarters and one staff promotion.

Portfolio company valuations in the global private equity market remain at an elevated level meaning companies are having problems exiting their investments, according to Edwin Conway, global head of BlackRock Alternatives. 
Kian Capital Partners, a lower-middle-market focused private investment firm, has held the final closing on its latest fund, Kian Growth Partners III, which was oversubscribed at $400 million.

Global infrastructure investment manager I Squared Capital, through its ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund III, is to acquire Rentco, a leading transport equipment leasing company in Australia providing flexible equipment rental options.  I Squared has committed a further AUD300 million to promote Rentco’s growth across the country and pursue new trailer leasing opportunities.  I Squared existing global leasing platforms includes FlexiVan, TIP Trailer Services, and Star Leasing. Following the transaction, I Squared Capital’s global transport and logistics portfolio will have over 264,000 trailers or chassis and 14,423 workshops with 3,700 employees in over 20 countries. Castlelake, a global alternative investment manager specialising in asset-based private credit, has appointed Evan Carruthers, chief investment officer, to the additional role of co-chief executive officer alongside Rory O’Neill, who has assumed the title of executive chair and co-chief executive officer. 
Bloom Equity Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm headquartered in New York City, has promoted Jeffrey Hsiang, who has more than 15 years of PE and investment banking experience, to partner.  Prior to joining Bloom a year ago, Hsiang held roles at Blackstone’s Private Equity Group, Diversis Capital and Lazard M&A.  In addition to Hsiang’s promotion, BJonathan Rosenblum has joined Bloom as an Associate from K1 Investment Management where he covered control investments in enterprise software companies, while Amanda Greenberg has joined the firman as operating partner from Vista Equity Partners.  Greenberg has two decades of experience as both an
Apiary Capital has completed a significant investment in First Intuition, a specialist provider of accountancy training to around 5,000 learners via centres in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and through online and hybrid courses.  The investment will support First Intuition’s management team to grow the company’s apprenticeship and commercial training streams, continue its regional expansion and pursue strategic acquisition opportunities.
