JP Morgan Growth Equity Partners has held final close of its inaugural Growth Equity Fund, with over $1 billion in aggregate capital commitments raised from a broad set of institutions, family offices and individual investors across the Americas, Europe and Asia, as well as JP Morgan.
US private equity firm Olympus Partners has agreed to acquire a majority ownership stake in International Wire Group Holdings from Atlas Holdings for a purchase price “slightly in excess of” $900 million.
Atlas, which acquired IWG in April 201, will continue as an investor in the company.
Following the close of the transaction, which is expected to happen in the second quarter of 2023, longtime industry specialist Gregory J Smith will continue as president and chief executive officer of IWG.

Virginia Retirement System (VRS) has confirmed additional private equity investment vehicle commitments worth $850 million at its April investment advisory committee meeting, according to a report by Private Equity International.
With the new commitments VRS has allocated $150 million to Ares Capital Europe VI, and $250 million to Ares Pathfinder II. In addition, the pension scheme has made a $150 million commitment to Oaktree Opportunities Fund XII and a further $300 million to Hellman and Friedman XI.
The $102.5 billion pension scheme’s current private equity allocation stands at 18%, which is above the target allocation of 16%.
C5 Capital, a specialist venture capital firm that invests in cybersecurity, space, and advanced nuclear energy, has appointed Pete Cooper as managing partner and global head of partnerships. He will also head up C5 Capital’s London office.

European credit specialist AlbaCore Capital Group has priced AlbaCore Euro CLO V, its fifth Collateralised Loan Obligation (CLO) fund, at €347.6 million. AlbaCore Euro CLO V increases AlbaCore’s total value of CLO issuance to date from €1.9 billion to ~€2.3 billion.
