Parthenon Capital, a growth-oriented private equity firm with offices in Boston, San Francisco and Austin, has held the first and final closing of Parthenon Investors VII with more than $4.5 billion in commitments, significantly in excess of its initial $3.5 billion target.

Brian Tierney, global head of portfolio operations and asset management at Blackstone, is leaving the firm to take up the role of president and chief executive officer at electricity supply, distribution and generation company FirstEnergy Corp. Brookfield Asset Management is in negotiations to acquire a majority stake in data centre operator Data4, in a deal that values the business at close to €3.5 billion euros, including debt, according to a report by Reuters.
SoftBank Group has agreed a deal to take Berkshire Grey private by acquiring all of the company’s outstanding stock it doesn’t already own for $1.40 per share, giving the deal a value of around £375 million, according to a report by MarketWatch. News of the acquisition saw the company’s shares trading 16.72% higher at $1.33 in after hours trading on Friday having finished the day’s regular session down 4.2% at $1.14. According to its website, Berkshire Grey offers solutions that combine AI and robotics to automate fulfilment, supply chain and logistics operations for retail, eCommerce, package handling, and logistics companies.
