Indian carmaker Tata Motors is looking to raise up to $1 billion through the sale of a stake in its electric vehicle business and has opened discussions with a number of sovereign wealth funds and private equity investors over a potential deal, according to a report by the Economic Times.
Alternative credit investment firm Crescent Capital Group has held the final close of its eighth private credit solutions fund, Crescent Credit Solutions VIII, at $8 billion in investable capital, including targeted leverage and separately managed accounts investing alongside the fund – the largest capital raise in the firm’s history.
Apollo Global Management Inc has appointed Whitney Chatterjee, a partner at New York Law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, as general counsel, effective 3 April. She will then transition to the role of chief legal officer in January 2024, succeeding John Suydam who has served as Apollo’s legal chief since 2006.
Suydam will remain a partner at Apollo and take on the role of senior advisor.
Chatterjee, who was most recently head of Sullivan & Cromwell’s investment management practice, will oversee the New York-headquartered firm’s asset management and retirement services businesses.
RealBlocks, a technology platform for alternative investments that provides an end-to-end digital investing process and secondary trading, has launched Queue Protection, a new solution to help relieve mounting pressure for private funds hitting redemption limits or being gated.
Within 60 days, RealBlocks says it can set up a white-label solution for asset managers that provides a fully digital investing and secondary trading process. The firm offers access to a series of purchasers, including Secondaries managers and other Limited Partners (LPs) of the fund. The General Partner (GP), however, controls the permissioning regarding who can or cannot participate in these transactions.

Coller Capital has created a new global Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions business led by Jake Elmhirst, who joined the firm in 2022 as a partner in the investor relations team, to provide high-net-worth individuals with access to private capital markets.
Nick Hatch has rejoined Probitas Partners, an independent, global placement advisory firm, as managing director and global head of secondaries. The firm’s secondaries platform advises across the full range of LP and GP-led secondaries transactions globally.
Sidley has appointed Germaine Nicole Gurr as an M&A and private equity partner in the firm’s New York office. Gurr, who comes to Sidley from White & Case’s M&A practice in New York, has past experience as both a global corporate lawyer and a former executive at Schneider Electric, a global Fortune 500 company.
Gurr, whose corporate practice serves clients across the world in diverse industries, has represented clients in a wide array of matters, primarily focused on M&A, private equity, securities offerings, capital raising, joint venture and commercial transactions, and general corporate.
