First American Financial Corporation has launched the official brand and website for the company’s venture capital arm – Parker89. Since 2019, First American’s venture capital arm has invested over $350 million in more than 20 high-growth proptech companies, many of which have become strategic partners and customers. Parker89’s investment strategy will continue to focus on early-stage companies and entrepreneurs that are reimagining residential and commercial real estate, including tech-enabled brokerages and marketplaces, agent tools, lenders, mortgage software, and fractional homeownership. 
O2 Investment Partners has appointed Travis Aho as the firm’s newest Senior Associate. Aho will be responsible for evaluating new transactions, due diligence, underwriting, and working with O2’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining O2, Aho worked on the M&A and Corporate Development team at Tenneco, a global manufacturer of automotive OE and aftermarket products.
Aquiline Capital Partners (Aquiline), a private investment firm based in New York and London with $8.7 billion in assets under management, has held the final closing of Aquiline Technology Growth Fund II (ATG II). The Fund closed with more than $365 million in total commitments, exceeding its target of $300 million and nearly doubling the $189 million in total commitments raised for Aquiline Technology Growth’s (ATG) first fund. Secondary markets are known for opaque pricing and close networks. Is the advance of data and technology about to change all that in private equity’s growing GP-led space? SLAMcore, a pioneer in vision-based location and mapping for robots, autonomous machines and consumer electronics products, has raised $16 million in a Series A funding round led by ROBO Global Ventures and Presidio Ventures. Amadeus Capital Partners, Global Brain, IP Group, MMC and Octopus, plus strategic investors Samsung Ventures, Toyota Ventures, and Yamato Holdings, also joined the round.
EFA has been named as the central administrator providing fund accounting as well as registrar & transfer agency services to Sherpa Asset Management’s Diversified Opportunities Fund. The private equity strategy of the fund is focused on longer than conventional value creation periods and more hands-on management of funds and companies via its Direct Investment holdings. Sherpa Asset Management is a Zürich based asset management company providing asset & wealth management services. 
Pelican Capital has sold portfolio company Wheelhouse Advisors to Centralis, an international corporate and funds service provider. Centralis is backed by CBPE Capital, a UK-based mid-market private equity firm. Pelican Capital supported the management buyout of Wheelhouse from ACA Compliance in March 2020. A strategic partner to the investment management sector, Wheelhouse Advisors supports more than 900 clients globally, with over $130 billion of assets under reporting.  The deal, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Gresham House, a specialist alternative asset manager committed to sustainable investing, has completed a new international and forestry-related carbon credits investment. The Gresham House Forest Carbon (NZ) LP, backed by a group of UK-based institutional investors, has acquired a 25% stake in a New Zealand forest carbon portfolio whose focus is on carbon sequestration and native forest regeneration.   Gresham House Forest Carbon (NZ) LP’s investment comprises eight different forests covering over 12,000 hectares in New Zealand. The forests will not be used for commercial timber. Instead, they will remain as permanent forests, contributing to CO2 reduction, while maintaining biodiversity
Cairngorm Capital Partners’s portfolio company, Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG) has acquired Merkko Builders Merchants Ltd (Merkko), extending its network of branches in Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Merkko is a highly successful independent heavyside builders’ merchant supplying trade and retail customers across Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Headquartered in Abingdon, it has two branches in Kingston Bagpuize, Abingdon and Aldermaston, both stocking a comprehensive range of construction materials for building and civil engineering projects. Merkko has demonstrated strong organic growth since its formation.
BGF has completed a multi-million-pound investment in Harnham, a specialist in data and analytics (D&A) recruitment. Founded by Simon Clarke (Executive Chairman) and David Farmer (CEO) in 2006, Harnham has over 150 sales consultants worldwide with key hubs in the UK (London), US (New York, San Francisco, Phoenix), and Germany (Berlin). The business places candidates into both permanent and contracted roles across a range of companies from fast-growth startups to global blue chip businesses.   The substantial investment from BGF will support Harnham’s plans to scale further into the US and Europe as it seeks to expand its sales force
