Vista Equity Partners, a global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses, has announced a number of senior leadership promotions, appointing five new managing directors across the business.Â
Abingworth, an international life sciences investment group and part of global investment firm Carlyle, has appointed Joy Ghosh, PhD as managing director.
Ghosh will be based at the firm’s Boston office and will work with the transatlantic team to identify new investment opportunities and support existing investments in innovative private and public companies, including those focused on clinical co-development.
Ghosh has over 15 years’ experience in life science investing and portfolio company management and in corporate strategy and drug development. He joins from Eventide Asset Management where he was portfolio manager responsible for a portfolio of innovation-focused public and private
Pappas Capital, a global venture capital and commercial development firm, has appointed Richard Staub as Venture Partner. Staub currently serves as senior advisor to the Chairman and CEO of IQVIA, supporting several areas of the business, including strategic M&A, customer management and governance, leadership development, and business development.
He also serves as an advisor to the President of IQVIA’s Research & Development Solutions (R&D Solutions) global business unit, and other IQVIA leaders. He previously served as President of IQVIA’s R&D Solutions business unit, the world’s largest clinical research organization.

Permira has appointed Jörg Rockenhäuser as chairman of DACH, effective 1 January, 2023. Rockenhäuser, who has been with the business for 22 years – 15 years as head of DACH – will continue his work as a member of Permira’s Investment Committee.
Bellevue has recruited an experienced private equity secondaries team consisting of Steven Kroese, Lars Honegger and Chris Davies, that has been operational as of 1 December, 2022.
This acquisition adds a new field of activity to Bellevue’s Private Markets operations – secondary strategies – that complements its existing well established direct investment activities. Bellevue will launch a secondary investment vehicle at the beginning of 2023.

Li arrives from Morrison & Foerster, where she served as a partner in the M&A, private equity investments and buyouts practices. She has extensive experience representing strategic and financial investors and target companies in the US, across China, and internationally on a broad range of M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions.

Oakley Capital, a pan-European private equity investor, has appointed Jan Woods as Partner. Woods will be responsible for portfolio company talent. Focusing on Organisation Design, Talent Strategies and Team Performance, she will advise teams on how to attract and retain the best talent and build strong systems and cultures.
Previously, Woods was a Director at a consumer-focused private equity firm, where she helped to develop human resource (HR), executive development and business transformation strategies for portfolio companies. Before this, she held a series of senior, international HR roles at PepsiCo and IBM.

Alternative asset management firm EnTrust Global has appointed Sophia Mullen as president, a newly-created role at the company. Mullen will continue to head EnTrust Global’s $8 billion opportunistic co-investment strategy and remain on EnTrust Global’s Management Committee and Global Investment Committee.
As the firm’s President, Mullen will focus on expanding the company’s global presence, and pursuing other innovative opportunities for the firm’s increasingly diverse institutional investor base.

Global private equity firm Permira has appointed Andy Eckert as a senior adviser to its global technology team, focusing on healthcare technology investments. Eckert will also work with the firm’s healthcare team on broader opportunities in the sector.
Eckert has over 30 years of experience managing and growing healthcare companies. He currently serves on the board of directors of Becton, Dickinson and Company, a global medical technology leader, and was most recently CEO of Zelis, a payments technology and cost containment platform which aims to modernise the financial healthcare system.
