Argand Partners, a New York- and San Francisco Bay Area-based industrials private equity firm, has added two new hires to its investment team, with the appointments of Ford Harrington as vice president and Peter Derby as Associate.    
Apollo Global Management has appointed Connecticut state treasurer Shawn Wooden as a partner and its new chief public pension strategist to help expand the private equity firm’s business with retirement systems, according to a report by Financial News. The report cites an Apollo spokesperson as confirming that Wooden will assume his new role in late January to comply with “all relevant restrictions”. Scott Kleinman, Apollo co-president, said that Wooden’s appointment will “allow Apollo to offer tailored, aligned investment solutions to these leading institutions”. Cresset Partners has appointed Shari Young Lewis as managing director, private funds group. She will focus on private equity funds and co-investments across buyout, platform buy-and-build, and other control-oriented strategies.
International investment firm Hambro Perks has appointed Sam Marchant as Investment Associate. Marchant will focus on identifying and growing Hambro Perks’ portfolio of companies by focusing on early stage and primary investments for the HP Leaders Fund, the firm’s flagship £100 million venture fund, and the Hambro Perks Growth EIS.
Global law firm Dechert has announced that from 1 July, 2023, partners David W Forti and Mark Thierfelder will become co-chairs of the business, and that partners Sabina Comis and Vincent H Cohen, Jr will become the firm’s first global managing partners. 
FTV Capital, a growth equity investment firm, has appointed six financial services executives to its Strategic Advisory Board. The new advisors bring decades of banking, technology and insurance experience to FTV’s network, providing a distinct view into the needs and pain points of global enterprises. 
Pictet Asset Management (Pictet AM) continues to strengthen its Fixed Income offering with the recruitment of four private debt specialists. The new Private Debt team is headed by Andreas Klein in London, who joined Pictet AM in early 2022. 
Private funds partner Ajay Pathak has been appointed as the next London co-chair at law firm Goodwin Procter, according to a report by Law.com. The appointment comes as the firm is seeking larger premises to accommodate its expansion in the UK capital. Pathak, who succeeds Paul Lyons who is standing down after a long tenure, will join current co-chair private equity partner Gemma Roberts who took on the role last year.  Pathak joined Goodwin as a partner in the private equity group in 2017 from King & Wood Mallesons, having spent 15 years at KWM, until the firm collapsed in
Stefano Cocirio, an associate portfolio manager at Elliott Advisors is to quit the US activist hedge fund to take up the role of chief financial officer at Italian Serie A football club AC Milan, according to a report by Il Sole 24 Ore.
UK-based mid-market private equity investor Livingbridge has appointed Matt Jacobs as its new head of services. Based in London, Jacobs will oversee the investment strategy for the services sector team.  Jacobs joined Livingbridge in 2016 and has taken a leading role in its investments in Adarma, Sykes Cottages, and Carousel Logistics. He currently sits on the board of Quorum Cyber, one of the UK’s leading managed security service providers.   Services is a key sector for Livingbridge, with 14 companies currently in the portfolio and more than 50 services investments over the last 20 years.
