Capital Dynamics, an independent global private asset management firm, has appointed Andrea Mazzaferro as head of primaries, Europe. Mazzaferro is taking over the position from Mark Drugan, who is retiring from the firm after 34 years of service. In his new role, Mazzaferro will lead European investments in mid-market funds within the buyout, specialist, turnaround and growth sectors. Apollo Global Management has appointed Connecticut state treasurer Shawn Wooden as a partner and its new chief public pension strategist to help expand the private equity firm’s business with retirement systems, according to a report by Financial News. The report cites an Apollo spokesperson as confirming that Wooden will assume his new role in late January to comply with “all relevant restrictions”. Scott Kleinman, Apollo co-president, said that Wooden’s appointment will “allow Apollo to offer tailored, aligned investment solutions to these leading institutions”.
