Edgemont Partners, a healthcare-dedicated investment bank and M&A and capital raising advisor, has appointed Sarah Pringle as Director to lead and expand its financial sponsor coverage.
GI Partners has appointed Matt Barker has as a Managing Director with GI Data Infrastructure based in London, to lead digital infrastructure investing in Europe. GI Data Infrastructure is a sector-focused value-add infrastructure investment strategy, which invests in data transport, data centre, wireless access, and tech-enabled infrastructure operating companies. GI Partners has been investing in the data infrastructure space, primarily in North America, since the Firm’s founding in 2001.   Prior to joining GI Partners, Barker was a partner with 3i Infrastructure where he led numerous digital infrastructure investments in multiple European countries.  
Waterfall Asset Management has promoted Patrick Lo and Brian Rebello to co-chief investment officers. Waterfall is a global alternative investment manager focused on specialty finance opportunities within asset-backed credit, whole loans, real assets, and private equity.  LIntelo and Rebello are both partners of the firm. Lo has over 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Waterfall in 2006, he worked as an analyst at Citigroup Global Markets, focusing on origination, structuring, and financing of various asset classes of ABS. Lo received a BS in Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Rebello has  over 22 years of industry experience.
Private equity firm Broadtree Partners has adds to to cooperating partner team with the appointment of former Constellis CEO and 25-year federal markets veteran Tim Reardon, according to a report by Washington Technology. Reardon focus on overseeing the development and implementation of the firm’s strategy for identifying investment opportunities in aerospace, defence and government services businesses. Reardon has also been appointed chief executive and chairman of the board of directors for mission support services provider Sayres Defense, Broadtree’s first acquisition in the government contracting market back in June last year. Reardon headed up global security services provider Constellis from 2018
M&A and capital markets lawyer John Johnston has returned to Vinson & Elkins as as counsel in New York. Johnston rejoins the firm where he began his career, having spent the past five years at Baker Botts.  Johnston represents businesses in a wide range of corporate transactions, including initial public offerings, registered and unregistered offerings of equity and debt securities, and M&A transactions. In addition, Johnston advises companies on shareholder activism and corporate governance matters, Exchange Act reporting, beneficial ownership reporting, stock exchange compliance and other securities law matters. Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs will open an office in Dublin, Ireland – its 15th location in Europe – complementing the firm’s international platform of over 40 offices worldwide. Partner Dennis Agnew, who leads the Transactions Team for Ireland at Pinsent Masons and was a founding partner of its Dublin office, will join Squire Patton Boggs to launch the new office, which is expected to open on 1 May, 2023.   Agnew will serve as Managing Partner of the Dublin office and lead the firm’s efforts to recruit additional talent. King & Spalding has added private funds partner Stephen Sims to the firm’s Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group in London. Sims, who joins the Private Funds and Alternative Capital Team, has more than 20 years of experience advising in the funds sector. He has a broad fund formation practice covering private equity, real assets, infrastructure and energy funds as well as capital raising, fund-related M&A at manager/group level and ongoing ‘house’ work and secondary transactions in fund interests. SPE Capital, a private equity firm focused on Africa and the Middle East has expanded its leadership team with the promotion of existing principal Tarek Lababidi to partner. Lababidi began his private equity career in 2014 as an associate in Swicorp’s Dubai office in 2014. After obtaining his MBA at INSEAD in 2016, he joined the founding team at SPE Capital’s newly-opened Casablanca office, where he played a role in several transactions, including the investment in (2020) and successful exit from (2021) Dislog Group, and the acquisition of Amanys Pharma (2020 – previously Saham Pharma).
