HIG Capital (HIG), a global alternative asset investment firm with over $49 billion of equity capital under management, has added Stephan Madsen to the firm’s European Middle Market LBO team in London as a Managing Director focused on the Nordic region. Madsen has over 12 years of private equity experience across sectors and regions, with particular focus on the Nordics. Before joining HIG, Stephan was a Managing Director at BC Partners in London. Prior to that, he worked at IK Partners.

Colmore, the service and technology provider for private market Limited Partners (LPs) and allocators, has appointed Christine Campney as relationship management director. Campney, who joined from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), will sit on Colmore’s Executive Committee and be responsible for client relationship management, bringing over 25 years of industry experience. Campney joins Colmore following her previous role as Director, Real Assets and Private Equity Operations, with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments).

Managed Funds Association (MFA), the trade association for the global alternative asset management industry, has hired David Lourie as Vice President and Senior Counsel, Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining MFA, Lourie served as Associate General Counsel at General Atlantic. Lourie brings a decade of experience in the alternative investment industry. Prior to joining MFA, he was Associate General Counsel and Vice President at General Atlantic where he worked closely on issues relating to ESG. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a law degree from the University of Southern California.

Fidelity International (Fidelity), a global asset manager with total client assets of $767.6 billion, has significantly expanded its private credit team with 12 new hires, including senior appointments in direct lending.

Orrick has appointed David Aaronson as a partner focused on advising on complex M&A transactions in the energy sector, with a particular focus in counseling private equity investors, sponsors and portfolio companies. He is the fifth partner to join Orrick’s Energy & Infrastructure practice since February, joining a team that IJGlobal named Energy Legal Adviser of the Year at its 2021 North America awards. Aaronson joins Orrick from Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

Ethos Capital LP (Ethos) has appointed Stephen Gold its newest Executive Partner. Gold previously led Honeywell’s $2.5 billion IoT and software services business and was a founding member and principal business architect for one of the fastest growing businesses in IBM’s history, the Watson Group. Gold holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an MBA with distinction from Carnegie Mellon University.
