Archangels, the angel investment syndicate, has appointed Ian Macleod as the new chair of its board. The former investment analyst and fund manager takes over the role from Eric Young, who has held the position since 2014. Young will continue to sit on the Archangels board. Previously, Macleod worked in London and Paris for many years as an analyst, specialising in the electronics and telecoms industries, initially with ANZ Capel Cure Myers and longer spells at both NatWest Markets and Jeffries.

Peakside Capital Advisors AG (Peakside) has appointed Frank Schäfer as a new partner in the company.

Bellinger Asset Management (Bellinger) has appointed Greg Hampton as CEO of its recently established Bellinger Credit business. In this role, Hampton will lead Bellinger’s credit strategy, which will initially focus on further secondary market debt and lending investments in the aviation sector while also exploring credit opportunities in other real asset classes over time. Gr Hampton eg joins Bellinger with more than 25 years of asset finance experience gained within leading global banks. He was most recently the executive in charge of National Australia Bank’s Global Asset Finance business and, prior to that, held senior roles in Asset Finance at

ICV Partners, an investment firm focused on lower middle market companies in business services, consumer goods & services, food & beverage, and healthcare, has appointed Fernanda Llera as vice president. Prior to joining ICV, Llera was a Senior Associate at Investar Capital, a Dallas-based middle market private equity firm. Previously, she was an Analyst at L Catterton where she covered private equity transactions in the UK, Spain, Portugal, and Scandinavia. 

Brian Mulcahy has joined BakerHostetler’s Chicago office as a partner in the firm’s Business Practice Group and member of the Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions teams.

O2 Investment Partners has appointed Travis Aho as the firm’s newest Senior Associate. Aho will be responsible for evaluating new transactions, due diligence, underwriting, and working with O2’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining O2, Aho worked on the M&A and Corporate Development team at Tenneco, a global manufacturer of automotive OE and aftermarket products.

Tonka Bay Equity Partners (Tonka Bay) has appointed Angie North as marketing & operations manager. North will assist in the execution of the firm’s marketing strategy and will support accounting and investor reporting. Prior to joining Tonka Bay, North worked for the Notre Dame Club of Minnesota, where her responsibilities included communications, financial management, and operations.   North is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Finance.

Alternative credit specialist Pemberton has expanded its presence in Germany with the opening of a new office in Munich. The company has appointed Adrian Grammerstorf, who joins firm from Allianz Global Investors, to lead its Much operation.   The office opening comes at a time of increased investment opportunities in the German private debt market, with direct lending having increased substantially in Germany in recent years1. In the last five years, Pemberton has completed 34 deals in Germany, totalling c€2.1 billion, cementing the company as one of the leading alternative lenders in the country.   Grammerstorf brings over 18 years

Squire Patton Boggs has expanded its global Private Equity Practice in Europe with the appointment of Corporate partner Sara Belotti who joins the firm’s Milan office from Baker McKenzie. Belotti’s arrival follows that of private equity lawyers Anthony Guillaume, who has joined the firm in Paris, and Teresa Zueco and a six-lawyer team who arrived in Madrid last November, and four new partners in London over the past 12 months.    With a practice focused on M&A, private equity and capital markets, Belotti has a successful track record in cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions, advising a range of Italian and global
