Orrick has appointed David Aaronson as a partner focused on advising on complex M&A transactions in the energy sector, with a particular focus in counseling private equity investors, sponsors and portfolio companies. He is the fifth partner to join Orrick’s Energy & Infrastructure practice since February, joining a team that IJGlobal named Energy Legal Adviser of the Year at its 2021 North America awards. Aaronson joins Orrick from Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
Ethos Capital LP (Ethos) has appointed Stephen Gold its newest Executive Partner. Gold previously led Honeywell’s $2.5 billion IoT and software services business and was a founding member and principal business architect for one of the fastest growing businesses in IBM’s history, the Watson Group. Gold holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an MBA with distinction from Carnegie Mellon University.
Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a global asset management group, has appointed Christopher Mahon as head of dynamic real return. As part of the Asset Allocation team, Mahon will lead manage the £2.4 billion Threadneedle Dynamic Real Return fund and other real return strategies. Mahon will join in September 2022, having most recently been head of multi-asset (EMEA) at Barings Asset Management. 
Pictet Group, the Swiss asset manager, has hired Edmund Buckley as head of the Direct Private Equity division, according to a report from Reuters. The asset manager is expanding its alternative investment side of the business and has appointed Buckley to grow the business. Previous to this role, Buckley was a managing director PE firm, THI Investments. He holds an MA in History from the University of Cambridge. 
JPMorgan has hired Chetan Singh as co-leader of it’s EMEA FIG team. Singh will work alongside Andreas Lindh, and both will report to co-head of the unit globally, Laurent Nevi. Singh previously worked at Aviva for five years as managing director of Annuities and Equities Release.
Schroders Capital has made two specialised asset management hires to support business growth in its Manchester and London offices. Matthew Baddeley has joined as a retail investment and asset management specialist in the Manchester real estate team. Baddeley joins this newly-created role at Schroders Capital from RDI REIT and brings 15 years of asset management experience across all sectors, with a most recent focus on retail warehousing and shopping centres.  Charles Twist has joined as an office asset management specialist in the London real estate team, another newly-created role, initially focused on the Central and Greater London portfolio. Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP has appointed private equity lawyer Kris Agarwal as partner. Based in the Houston office, Agarwal brings industry knowledge and client experience and bolsters Willkie’s significant private equity capabilities in the Texas market and beyond.  He is the fifth private equity partner to join Willkie this year, with others joining in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Advisor Group, the nation’s largest network of independent wealth management firms, has appointed Dimple Shah as executive vice president of Corporate Strategy and Iryna Northrip, CFA®, as Chief Compliance Officer, Investment Advisory.
North East financial advisory firm, Lowes Financial Management, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Andy Gardiner as its first associate director.
The UK Equity Trustees Fund Services Board has appointed Tim Callaghan as independent director. He brings more than 30 years of experience in managing, marketing and oversight of investment strategies as an investment specialist. He was most recently the chief investment officer and lead manager of the Globersel Pactum Natural Resources Fund at Nextam Partners Ltd. Callaghan is a Certified European Financial Analyst and holds a BSc (Hons) Chemistry with Management from King’s College London University.
