Muddy Waters Capital (Muddy Waters), an activist investment firm, has appointed Marta Obando as head of investor relations and marketing.

Turnspire Capital Partners (Turnspire) has added Luther Gatewood to its investment team as a Principal. Gatewood joins Turnspire from Athyrium Capital Partners where he was a Principal and played a leadership role in all aspects of the investment process, including origination, due diligence and structuring, in addition to driving portfolio company value enhancement. Prior to Athyrium, he was an investment analyst at Q Investments and at Elliott Management. Earlier in his career, Luther was an associate at Apax Partners and an analyst at Morgan Stanley.

Investor services group IQ-EQ has appointed Bram Eijsbouts as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Luxembourg.

Hg, a software and services investor, has appointed four new Partners, a CFO and Head of Talent. Hg is promoting three colleagues to Partner: Chris Fielding (London), Hector Guinness (New York) and Benedikt Joeris (Munich).  In addition, Alexandre Flavier recently joined as a Partner, with a primary focus on software and tech-enabled services investments in France. Philip Marshall has also recently joined Hg as Group CFO, while Kerry Heaton has joined Hg as Head of Talent from HSBC.

Private equity firm Genstar Capital has promoted Sid Ramakrishnan and Scott Niehaus to Director and Dominic Martellaro to Principal. Ramakrishnan originally joined Genstar in 2012 as an Associate and re-joined the firm in 2017 as Vice President. He was named Principal in 2019.  Niehaus joined Genstar in 2017 after receiving his MBA from Harvard Business School and was named Principal in 2020.  Martellaro originally joined Genstar as an Associate in 2014 and re-joined the firm in 2019 as a Vice President after receiving his MBA. 

Venture capital firm Piva Capital has appointed Elizabeth (Beth) Lowery as a Senior Advisor and Daryl Kennedy as its Investor Relations and ESG Manager.
