HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM) has expanded its alternative investments capability with a new Listed Infrastructure Equity Team and launched its first Global Listed Infrastructure Equity fund. The team joins from AMP Capital.   The team, led by Giuseppe Corona, Head of Listed Infrastructure Equity, has worked together for over five years and will report to Joanna Munro, CEO of HSBC Alternatives. Actis, a global sustainable infrastructure investor, has extended its footprint in Asia with the opening of a new office in Japan and two senior hires. Jun Ohashi and Tareq Sirhan join the firm as Partner and Head of Actis Japan, and Head of Energy for North Asia respectively and will be based in Tokyo.  The Japan launch reflects Actis’ strategic evolution to invest behind global themes. Actis aims to originate superior risk-return opportunities wherever they are found, and to create additional value by drawing on its extensive hands-on experience operating infrastructure assets and driving ESG improvements. Global corporate, private client and fund services provider, Hawksford, has appointed Sowmitra Singh as M&A Director – a new role within the business. Singh, who boasts more than 12 years’ experience in business consulting and M&A, has previously worked for companies including Deloitte and EY, gaining valuable experience in the financial and professional services industries.    In his new role, Singh will work closely with Hawksford business leaders to identify critical M&A opportunities, as well as help to deliver end-to-end M&A transactions through planning, financial analysis, transaction structuring, and due diligence.
Global investment solutions provider Russell Investments has appointed Gavin Anderson as Director, Private Markets. Based in London, Anderson will report to Chris Davies, Head of UK Distribution.
