Sidley Austin has appointed Meng Ding as a partner in the firm’s China Corporate and Finance group in Hong Kong.
Ding joins from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s Capital Markets practice group.
Ding has extensive experience in a broad spectrum of capital markets and M&A transactions, especially in the TMT, healthcare, financial institutions, hard-tech and other emerging technology fields. He has advised on numerous Hong Kong IPOs, US. Private markets asset management firm Hamilton Lane has appointed Niki Mangos as its Chief Technology Officer, based in the firm’s Bala Cynwyd headquarters.
Prior to Hamilton Lane, Mangos was Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Brandywine Global Investment Management, CIO for the Individual Products Distribution Division at Guardian Life, and a member of the Technology leadership team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, among other roles.

Estera, a global provider of corporate administration, funds and trust services, has appointed Sonal Patel as Managing Director, Head of Sales – Americas, Bermuda and Caribbean.
Patel joins Estera as strategic enhancements continue to be implemented across the group. This includes investments in leadership, facilities and enhanced service capabilities. Patel will focus on implementing Estera’s regional growth strategy and developing relationships with US clients and intermediaries for Estera Bermuda, BVI and Cayman Islands.

Cartica Management, a majority women-owned active investor focused on improvements in corporate governance, environmental, and social factors in the emerging markets, has appointed Kate Ahern as Managing Director of ESG and Sustainability.

Corporate advisor Ed Lukins has joined Orrick as a partner based in London. He joins from Cooley, where he helped found the London office.
Lukins focuses on the life sciences, tech and oil & gas and natural resource sectors, providing advice to public and pre-IPO private companies, private equity houses, entrepreneurs and banks in connection with domestic and cross-border capital markets and M&A transactions, strategic ventures and other corporate matters. Leanne Wallser has joined Walkers’ Jersey office as a Group Partner as part of the firm’s strategic growth in the Island.
Wallser is the fourth new partner in the Jersey team in the last 18 months, following the relocation of Fraser Hern from the firm’s Singapore office, the lateral hire of Nigel Sanders from another offshore firm, and Christopher Reed’s promotion to the partnership.
Overall, headcount across the Jersey office has increased by more than a third in the last year.
