The Pearl Fund, an opportunity zone fund that is also a venture capital fund focused on spurring economic development in opportunity zones throughout New York and Pennsylvania, has appointed three new advisors.
The team of highly-specialised, diversified and accomplished executives brings extensive leadership experience for multinational corporations and startups. The new members are:
• G Robert (Bob) James, founder and chairman, The Solomon Group. James brings over three decades of experience driving business transformation across the public and private sectors, and is an expert in turnaround management and global business strategy.
• Alysha Light, founder, FLIGHT PR. With
Natixis Investment Managers’ affiliate Ostrum AM is expanding its business in the Asia-Pacific region by opening a subsidiary in Hong Kong to provide investors opportunities to diversify into real asset private debt.
This move forms part of Ostrum AM’s broader strategy to expand its global platform for this asset class, managed by Denis Prouteau, Real Asset Private Debt CIO.
This newly created subsidiary will provide investors with investment opportunities in the infrastructure real asset private debt space in Asia-Pacific, along with co-lending opportunities in partnership with Natixis’ Corporate & Investment Banking division.

Activa Capital has promoted David Quatrepoint and Frédéric Singer to the position of Investment Director, five years after they joined the French private equity firm.
The pair joined Activa Capital’s investment team in 2014, first as Associates (2014-2016) and then as Managers (2016-2019).
Quatrepoint and Singer have been involved in all the transactions of Activa Capital Fund III fund (Active Assurances, Alliance Etiquettes, Atlas for Men, Be Relax, Explore, HR Path, LOOK Cycle and Mecadaq Group), the 16 build-ups of the fund and the first exit (HR Path).

Dentons has bolstered its UK Asset Management team with the addition of partner and investment funds specialist, Ted Craig, to its London Corporate practice. Craig joins from MJ Hudson where he was a partner and head of private funds.
Craig acts for funds sponsors and investors, including both first-time and established managers, pension funds, secondary funds, funds of funds and investment consultants, and single and multi-family offices on matters relating to the establishment and operation of and investment into private investment funds across all asset classes. Craig also acts for buyers and sellers on direct and indirect secondary transactions and
BlackFin, a pan-European private equity platform focusing on financial services, has promoted Sabine Mathis, Daniel Cohen-Sabban and Damien Lestang to equity partners of the firm.
Alongside BlackFin’s four founding partners they will spearhead the firm’s investment activities across Europe.
Mathis joined BlackFin in 2011 as CFO. She has since played a key role in the success of the funds through her transversal and operational role within BlackFin. Prior to joining BlackFin, Mathis spent three years at Natixis Private Equity International as CFO and 6 years at Ernst & Young / Arthur Andersen. Sabine graduated from HEC business school.
Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, capital markets and principal investment arm of Macquarie Group (Macquarie), has appointed Michael Magliana as Co-Head of the UK for its AEA Group and Camelia Robu as Head of Leveraged Finance in EMEA, based in London.
Magliana brings significant senior expertise to Macquarie Capital’s existing presence across the region, with over 20 years of experience, mainly with JP Morgan and most recently Moelis and Jefferies. Twin Brook Capital Partners, the middle market direct lending subsidiary of Angelo Gordon, has appointed Timothy Wentinkas a Managing Director focused on its Healthcare Lending business.
Wentink joins the Twin Brook team from Madison Capital, where he was a Managing Director on the Healthcare Leveraged Finance team.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher has appointed UK solicitor Jane Scobie as a partner in the firm’s Tax Department in London. She was previously a partner at Dechert LLP in London.
