Renaissance Capital, an emerging and frontier markets investment bank, has appointed Risana Zitha as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renaissance Capital (South Africa) and Head of Investment Banking, Africa.
In the capacity of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renaissance Capital (South Africa), Zitha will coordinate the work of the Board and supervise relations with key stakeholders, and will report to Renaissance Capital Co-CEOs Ruslan Babaev and Anna Vyshlova. As Head of Investment Banking, Africa, he will be in charge of client coverage as well as deal origination and execution, and will report to Acting Global Head
Intertrust in Jersey has appointed David Middleton and Phil Maletroit as client directors in its fund services division.
Middleton has joined Intertrust’s private equity team and is a Chartered Accountant and CFA charterholder. He has experience in all aspects of fund administration and completing the full lifecycle of deals, gained whilst working for a venture fund.
In his new role Middleton will ensure the funds team delivers optimal client service by putting in place the right structures, tools and guidance to meet the clients’ needs.

Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) has promoted Andi Tomkinson to the position of Partner in its Manchester office, and appointed Philipp Gauß as Associate in Munich, and six further promotions across its offices in France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
These developments will bolster Equistone’s investment team and serve to reflect the firm’s strong performance and commitment to supporting the internal progression of its team.

Investec Corporate and Investment Banking (Investec) has appointed Jonathan Arrowsmith to its Investment Banking team as Head of Advisory.
Arrowsmith joins from DC Advisory, where he was a Managing Director and led the business services practice in the UK. He has advised on transactions including the sale of Citation to Hg and the sale of FRA to Dunedin. At Investec, Arrowsmith will lead Investment Banking’s advisory offering, with a particular focus on increasing its private advisory presence and business services capabilities.

Privately-owned and independent fiduciary and administration solutions provider VG as made several personnel hires and promotions in its funds team.
Dominic Coyne has been promoted to Senior Manager, responsible for a team with established expertise in alternative investment funds and experience in the administration of a broad range of fund vehicles. Emily Roque has been promoted to Assistant Manager and Michael Bree has been appointed as Client Reporting Supervisor. Michael oversees VG’s fund administration software platform, Investran, and is responsible for financial reporting to managers and investors. In addition, Charles Carpenter has been promoted to Fund Administrator.

Fund placement agent and secondary transactions advisor AXON Partners has appointed William Gilmore as a partner in the firm’s UK office.
Gilmore, who joins as a Partner/Head of Origination, is an industry veteran having spent the last 18 years in manager selection most recently as Head of Primary Funds Europe at Aberdeen Standard Investments (formerly Aberdeen Asset Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership). Gilmore led a diverse multinational team of eight direct reports responsible for all aspects of sourcing, executing and monitoring investments in European private equity funds. GPB Capital Holdings has appointed Brian Weisenberger as Managing Director, Communications. He will lead GPB Capital’s new in-house communications team.

Palatine Private Equity has made four promotions across its UK business following one of the firm’s most successful and active years.
Andy Strickland, who is based in the London office, has been promoted to Senior Investment Director. He’s been with the firm for five years and has been involved in transactions such as Cyberfort Group, EPI, John Charcol and Wren Sterling.
Richard Thomas has also been promoted to Senior Investment Director. He joined Palatine in 2015 to help set up the Midlands office. Since then, he has acted on three deals, including TTC, CET UK, and Westleigh Partnerships, which
Houlihan Lokey (NYSE:HLI), the global investment bank, has added Christian Keller and Ann Sharkey to the firm’s European Financial Sponsors Group.
These appointments follow the recent arrival of Leon Gillespie, who joined the team in London in October to focus on UK private equity clients. He joined from Canaccord Genuity, where he was Head of Financial Sponsors Coverage.

Private equity firm MTN Capital Partners has appointed Terrance Kennedy as Director of Business Development. In this role, Kennedy will be responsible for sourcing potential investment opportunities from investment banks and other intermediaries as well as MTN Capital’s proprietary group of senior executives.
Kennedy was previously a Senior Associate on the Private Equity Research team at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) where he managed the recruitment of industry experts as well as assisting several of GLG’s largest Private Equity clients with their due diligence project work. Prior to that, Terrance worked on new business development at GLG.
