FRP Advisory, the business advisory firm, has strengthened its UK operations with the promotion to director of Julie Humphrey. She will be based in the firm’s Essex office.
Humphrey brings to her director role appointment more than 13 years of restructuring and insolvency experience, having worked alongside FRP Advisory’s founding partners since the start of her business advisory career. Julie is a licensed insolvency practitioner and a qualified accountant and has deep-rooted connections to the Essex and wider South-East business and lender communities.

Stanhope Capital has appointed Nigel Spray as Partner and Head of the firm’s Merchant Banking division. Spray joins Stanhope Capital from Kleinwort Hambros where he held the position of Managing Director – Head of Private Merchant Banking.

JCRA Group has recruited former Cardinal Risk Advisors duo, Gina Sullivan and Peter Turk, who join the firm’s New York office and will be responsible for financial sponsors in private equity as well as the wider corporate client base.
The experienced pair will bolster JCRA’s expertise in the provision of independent hedging advice for interest rates and foreign exchange risk. JCRA Group recently completed an MBO and highlighted that these client sectors are a key opportunity for growth in the US market.

WhiteHorse Capital, the direct lending affiliate of private equity investment firm HIG Capital, has promoted Gina Provenzale, Jeff Wells and John Yeager to the position of Managing Director.
Provenzale is based in Stamford and is responsible for structuring and executing financial solutions to mid-market and lower mid-market sponsors with a focus on providing senior debt, second lien debt, and unitranche debt products.
Wells, who is based in Dallas, is responsible for sourcing and executing middle market senior debt financings for non-sponsored borrowers. Jeff also provides coverage and support to a number of southwestern private equity clients.

Catapult Ventures has appointed Chris Spencer as a Venture Partner with the firm’s GM&C Life Sciences Fund.
Spencer, who becomes the Fund’s fourth Venture Partner, will assess investment opportunities and work with the Fund’s smaller investments to help companies successfully grow, with a particular focus on digital health.

Pan-African private equity firm Development Partners International (DPI) has appointed Takudzwa Mutasa as Principal.
As a deal lead, Mutasa will work with the team to source and manage investment opportunities and partnerships across the continent, as well as work with existing portfolio investments.
Mutasa will rejoin DPI from KKR and has over a decade of investment experience of which the majority has been in African Private Equity.
Mutasa’s private equity experience, outside of DPI, has been gained at firms including KKR and Helios Investment Partners where he was involved in sourcing, analysing and executing private equity investments across
