Dominik Tobschall has joined venture capital firm Target Partners as an associate. The 34-year-old software developer and lawyer supports the team in handling all tasks related to start-up investments, from deal flow to the investment process right through to portfolio management.   Prior to joining Target Partners Tobschall worked on digitalization projects and took care of technology investments and acquisitions with a member of the executive board at C.H.BECK, one of the major names in the German publishing industry. Steve Beck has been named a general partner at early stage venture capital firm Serra Ventures. After working informally with the Serra team for several years, Beck joined Serra Ventures as a venture partner in January 2016.   Now named a general partner, he will focus on developing Serra Capital’s reach and influence in selected West Coast geographies.    Beck is an entrepreneur and technology investor with over 25 years of experience both launching and guiding start-up companies. Fund management company and alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) FundRock Management Company has opened an office in Dublin, which will be headed up by Ross Thomson. Gowling WLG is growing its corporate presence in Germany by hiring Petra Beyer, who joins Andreas Woelfle in Stuttgart, as a director in the corporate law team. Beyer specialises in corporate, banking and capital law, as well as general contract law and international commercial law. In 1997, she joined Haver & Mailaender, where she became a partner in 2001. UK fund management company Octopus Investments has appointed Chris McVey as a fund manager in the smaller companies team. McVey (pictured) joins a team which, following significant growth in funds under management in recent years, now invests over GBP1 billion in UK quoted smaller companies.   McVey will focus on management of the Octopus AIM inheritance tax portfolios, the Octopus AIM Venture Capital Trusts and the FP Octopus UK Micro Cap Growth Fund.   McVey brings with him over 16 years’ experience within the UK smaller company equity market. European growth private equity investor Keensight Capital has appointed Anne de Bonnefon as head of investor relations. De Bonnefon has 15 years of private equity and strategy consulting experience, having begun her career in 2000 as a strategy consultant for AT Kearney.   In 2006, she joined the primary investment team at Unigestion in Geneva, where she was in charge of selecting European funds.
