Aquila Capital is expanding its advisory board with the appointment of Daniel Just (pictured), chairman of the executive board at Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK), Germany’s largest public pension fund. Ogier has appointed a new partner in its Luxembourg office to head its corporate practice. Bertrand Geradin, whose appointment takes the firm’s 25-strong Luxembourg team to five partners, has more than 15 years’ experience with law firms in Luxembourg, Brussels, London and Philadelphia.   He specialises in corporate law advising private equity and real estate clients, asset managers as well as multinational companies.   Ogier is the only law firm with a presence in Luxembourg, Cayman, BVI, Jersey and Guernsey. Sebastian Ehrnrooth has become managing partner at Segulah, having previously shared the role with Henrik Lif who is leaving the company. Ehrnrooth has been with Segulah for 16 years.   Lif joined Segulah in 2014 and became co-managing partner in 2015. His responsibilities will be shared by the partner group consisting of Percy Calissendorff, Marcus Planting-Bergloo, Erik Thornell, Håkan Dahlin, Sebastian Ehrnrooth and Gabriel Urwitz.   ”Henrik’s departure comes after a discussion in the partner group about the management of the firm. Noerr has added to its private equity and venture capital practice group with the appointment of Christoph Thiermann as an associated partner. Thiermann, who joins Noerr from P+P Pöllath + Partners, specialises in transaction-related advice to PE investors in an international environment and advises clients on investments and takeovers, as well as restructurings and divestments.   Besides investors, he also regularly advises companies on M&A transactions both on the buyer and the seller side.   At Noerr, Thiermann will primarily work with Georg Schneider, who heads the firm’s private equity and venture capital group, and will contribute to further expanding
BlackFin Capital Partners is launching a venture fund focused on FinTech opportunities across Europe.   The venture fund, which will be supported by a new dedicated FinTech team led by Julien Creuzé and Maxime Mandin, will focus on the FinTech sector including all aspects of banking, payments, wealth and asset-management, brokerage, insurance, insurance distribution, financial software and technology, technology related to regulatory requirements, and financial media.   After a first wave of FinTech start-ups mainly focusing on distribution and customer relationship, new ventures are now providing full stack financial services rethinking the whole value chain, BlackFin says.   The fund
Demica, a provider of working capital solutions to major corporates and banks, has appointed Daniel Kustrin as chief technology officer. Kustrin will be responsible for the firm’s technology needs, including overseeing the growth and development of Demica’s proprietary platform that enables the financing of over USD50 billion of trade receivables each year.   He will play a key role in the growth of the firm as it invests in new product development.   Kustrin joins Demica from Cardano Risk Management where he was global head of technology for development and infrastructure across locations in the UK and the Netherlands.  
Peer Funding, a newly FCA authorised peer to peer business lending platform, has appointed Gill Fielding as non-executive chairperson.
