International law firm Dorsey & Whitney has appointed Fabrizio Carpanini (pictured) as a Partner in its Corporate Group in London at the beginning of November this year. Carpanini, who will join the firm at the beginning of November this year, has over 30 years of experience extending across the full spectrum of corporate transactional work, including private equity, corporate finance, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, company and business sales and international joint ventures. His main area of expertise and practice has focused on institutional-facing private equity transactions, acting on institutional and management buy-outs, as well as development capital and buy-and-build transactions.
Idinvest Partners has added two new staff members in its Private Debt debt and Venture Capital and Growth teams. Verena Romero Frychel (pictured), Investment Director, Private Debt, sources, analyses and executes investments in Private Debt (mezzanine, unitranche, senior loans).   Prior to joining Idinvest Partners in March 2015, she restructured a family business in Mexico after spending two years at BNP Paribas (Media & Telecom Finance) in Paris and two years at Goldman Sachs (Leveraged Finance) in London. The Isle of Man Government Treasury is seeking private investment managers for the island’s proposed Enterprise Development Fund. The closing date for Expressions of Interest will be 12pm Thursday 3 September. This GBP50 million Enterprise Development Fund has been proposed to support job creation in the Isle of Man and grow the economy.   Private investment managers are required for the management and investment (including lending) of funds on a discretionary basis with a total market value spread across all of the classes of up to GBP50million in locally based businesses.
